Over VND 181,967 billion from initiatives of union members and workers

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the International Labor Day in Vietnam (May 1, 1946 - May 1, 2021), the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) launched the Program "75 thousand initiatives, overcoming difficulties, developing" among union members, workers, civil servants, public employees, and workers at all levels, sectors, agencies, units, and enterprises nationwide.

The program "75 thousand initiatives, overcoming difficulties, developing" (Prosecution) was launched right after the success of the 13th National Party Congress, at a time when the whole country joined hands to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic, achieving the dual goal, to contribute to arousing patriotism, creativity, self-reliance and self-reliance of workers, civil servants and laborers nationwide, soon bringing the Party's Resolution into life with the spirit of competing the more difficult it is, the more challenges the more innovation is required.

By using the digital technology platform to implement the Program, after 80 days of peak competition, 250,177 initiatives have participated, exceeding the set target by more than 300%.

Most of the initiatives participating in the Program are evaluated based on specific benefits, with a total estimated value of VND 148,967 billion.

There were 7 collectives and 128 authors with outstanding initiatives when participating in the Program that were honored and rewarded by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Following the success of the Program "75 thousand initiatives, overcoming difficulties, developing", on December 15, 2021, the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor launched the Program "1 million initiatives - efforts to overcome difficulties, creativity, determination to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic".

In 2 years (2022-2023), the Program completed the target of 1 million initiatives, 332 days ahead of schedule; 2,409,104 initiatives were submitted to participate in the Program, of which 2,033,669 valid initiatives were approved - reaching 203% of the target...

The program was launched in the context of many socio-economic difficulties due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the lives and jobs of workers were severely affected. However, after only 10 months of launching, the Program has completed the target of 1 million initiatives, 332 days ahead of schedule.

As of 24 hours of August 31, 2023, 2,409,104 initiatives have been submitted to the Program, of which 2,033,669 valid initiatives have been approved (reaching 203% of the set plan target).

Of which, the number of initiatives of union members who are cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers of Party, State agencies, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and public service units is 955,824 initiatives (47%); the number of initiatives of union members who are workers in the enterprise sector: 732,220 initiatives (36%); the number of initiatives of union officials: 345,723 initiatives (17%).

According to statistics from the online software system, the total value of the initiatives is estimated at more than 33,000 billion VND.

Inspiration, promote emulation, overcome difficulties and challenges

Responding to the emulation movement "Promoting the development of synchronous and modern infrastructure, practicing thrift and fighting waste" and the Prime Minister's conclusion on solutions to promote the completion of key projects and works... on February 27, 2024, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in coordination with Vietnam Electricity Group launched an emulation movement at the construction site of the 500kV line 3 project.

At the launching ceremony, union members, workers and representatives of the electricity industry and contractors signed an emulation agreement with the goal of the 5th most competitive: "Fastest progress; Best quality; Best safety - economy; Most creativity; Best care for life" associated with the Prime Minister's strong guiding motto.

The emulation movement has inspired, created an enthusiastic, spiritual and motivated working atmosphere on the construction sites, contributing to achieving the goal of "Fastest progress; Best quality".

The Prime Minister's orientations and instructions on "only discussing work, not retreating", "holidays, during Tet, during holidays", "3 shifts, 4 teams", "eating and sleeping urgently" ... have been regularly and continuously informed by the media and trade union officials at all levels to union members and workers, becoming a widespread effect, creating a spirit and working atmosphere, urgent and active in all working positions at the construction site.

The spirit of solidarity, joint efforts, and determination to complete the project at the construction site has been strongly spread among workers, civil servants, and laborers in the electricity industry. To participate and contribute to the 500kV circuit 3 becomes the pride of every worker.

Through the recognition of trade unions at all levels, the enthusiastic competitive spirit at the construction site not only spread widely among the working class, but also spread to the entire social community, armed forces, youth union members and people of the localities where the project passed through.

On August 29, 2024, the 500kV line 3 project was officially inaugurated. 4 groups and 17 individuals have been awarded certificates of merit by the Prime Minister.
