Survey of labor relations, workers and trade unions

Participating were representatives of the Hanoi City Labor Federation, representatives of a number of departments, branches, sectors and representatives of the Union of Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd., the Union of Matsuo Industries Vietnam Co., Ltd., etc.

The survey aims to serve the development of the Vietnam Trade Union Adaptation and Development Strategy.

According to Ms. Le Thi Kim Diep - Head of the Trade Union Work Committee, Hanoi City Labor Federation is directly managing and directing the activities of 7 trade unions at the grassroots level: including 5 general trade unions, 2 grassroots trade unions directly above the grassroots level received from the Vietnam Civil Servants' Union and 6,349 grassroots trade unions with 629,032 union members.

In general, the workforce in enterprises in Hanoi is young workers, who quickly access and master modern science, technology and market mechanisms.

The working conditions, income, housing, and living conditions of workers have always been of interest to all levels of sectors and the City Trade Union organization. The average income of workers in the city is 7.7 million VND/month.

The City Trade Union at all levels always focuses on training, coaching, and propaganda for union officials, union members, and workers to ensure harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations in units and enterprises.

Every year, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi City Labor Federation has developed a working program with 10 key activities and 10 key tasks; implemented 4 pilot projects; 2 thematic resolutions with many breakthrough and creative solutions, demonstrating the spirit of daring to think and daring to do; to overcome the shortcomings and limitations of the Trade Union organization.

The pilot projects have been positively implemented, recognized and highly appreciated by the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Hanoi Party Committee, and many contents have been widely replicated and applied nationwide by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Along with the financial support mechanism for individuals who are grassroots union officials and grassroots union officials directly participating in negotiation activities and signing collective labor agreements. Thereby creating a source of encouragement, motivation, and additional motivation for the team of union officials in negotiating and signing Collective Labor Agreements.

At the survey, Mr. Do Van Hao - Vice Chairman of Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd. - said that here, the Trade Union organization is the only organization representing workers; supported and facilitated by the company's Board of Directors, and trusted and accompanied by union members in the company.

Workers trust the Trade Union organization in the company and join the Company Trade Union organization right from the first day of work; enjoy Trade Union welfare regimes from the first day of work at the company, join the Trade Union even though the probationary period has not yet expired. From 2023 to present, there have been no labor disputes, work stoppages, or strikes at the Company.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long - Chairman of the Trade Union of Matsuo Industries Vietnam Co., Ltd. - said that from 2023 to present, the company has not had any labor disputes or collective work stoppages.

The Company and the Executive Board of the Trade Union regularly have regular and ad hoc dialogues, thereby resolving all problems and opinions of union members and workers in a timely manner. The Executive Board of the Trade Union has built prestige with the company and union members, workers...

Speaking at the survey, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Ngo Duy Hieu highlighted the difficulties, advantages as well as challenges and opportunities for the Vietnam Trade Union organization in the new context of international integration.

For Hanoi, the Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor suggested paying attention to the activities of the Trade Unions of high-tech parks and industrial parks in Hanoi city along with the establishment of the Commune and Ward Trade Unions.

Vice President Ngo Duy Hieu emphasized the organization of activities to continue affirming the role of the only organization representing workers of the Trade Union.
