More than 12 billion VND to take care of the lives of union members and workers in the electricity industry.

The congress was attended and directed by Mr. Le Xuan Thai - Chairman of the Trade Union of Southern Power Corporation.

The grassroots trade union of Can Tho City Power Company was merged from 3 grassroots trade unions of Can Tho, Hau Giang and Soc Trang Power. Currently, the unit has nearly 2,300 union members, with 30 departmental unions and 12 union groups.

During the past term, the movement of workers, civil servants, laborers and trade union activities at the unit have always been focused on and effectively implemented, affirming the role of a reliable support for workers. The union has visited more than 1,000 union members in difficulty with a total budget of over 1 billion VND; organized periodic health check-ups for 10,154 workers; supported tourism, resorts, and rehabilitation with a budget of over 9.2 billion VND; cared for 2 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers.

In addition, the unit has mobilized to contribute 1 day's salary to support people in disaster areas and the people of Cuba with an amount of more than 1.289 billion VND; proposed that the superior trade union support the construction and repair of 26 "Union Shelters", worth more than 1.37 billion VND.

The work of ensuring occupational safety and hygiene is focused on, with 160 occupational safety and hygiene workers being the core force in production teams and teams; equipped with protective equipment and construction equipment in accordance with standards. Regarding the emulation movement, the whole Company has 149 Company-level initiatives, 13 Corporation-level initiatives recognized; many collectives and individuals have been commended by Vietnam Electricity Group and the Corporation.

Speaking at the congress, Mr. Le Xuan Thai acknowledged and highly appreciated the outstanding results that the Can Tho City Power Company Trade Union has achieved in the recent term. At the same time, he suggested that the Trade Union continue to closely coordinate with the profession, promote the movement of good workers, creative workers, especially the application of technology, digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI) in internal management, operation and training and production and business services.

The Congress announced the decision to appoint the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of Can Tho City Power Company for the 2025 - 2030 term, consisting of 13 comrades; of which, Mr. Tran Vi Duc was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Trade Union of the Company.
