The first Can Tho City Trade Union Congress took place
Can Tho - The 1st Can Tho City Trade Union Congress is an important political event of the working class and the city's Trade Union organization.
On the afternoon of December 28, the first working session of the first Can Tho City Trade Union Congress for the 2025-2030 term took place.
The congress is an important political event for the working class and the city's Trade Union organization, taking place in the context that union members and workers throughout the city are focusing on implementing the Resolution of the 1st City Party Congress, towards the 14th National Party Congress.
With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development", the Congress is tasked with evaluating the results of implementing the Resolution of the 11th Congress of the Trade Union (2023 - 2028, period 2023 - 2025); determining the direction, goals, tasks of the workers, civil servants, and laborers (CNVCLD) movement and trade union activities in the period 2025 - 2030; discussing and contributing opinions to the documents of the 14th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, giving comments on amending and supplementing the Charter of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; reviewing the leadership and direction of the Executive Committee of the City Labor Federation (VGCLD) for the 2023 - 2025 term.
At the first working session, the Congress elected the Presidium, the Secretariat and the Delegation of Delegation status review board; approved the Program and working regulations.
Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation - presented the Report on reviewing the leadership and management of the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the City Labor Federation, term 2023-2028 (term 2023-2025).
According to the report, in the process of leading and directing the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the City Labor Federation, the work of inspection and supervision is always important, regularly focusing on the grassroots, listening to the feedback of union members and employees, promptly removing difficulties and obstacles in Trade Union activities. Thanks to that, the activities of the Can Tho City Trade Union in the past term have had many innovations and creativity, patriotic movements, welfare programs, union member development and building a strong Trade Union organization have all achieved and exceeded the set targets, contributing positively to the socio-economic development of the city.
Also in this working session, the Congress listened to a report synthesizing comments on supplementary contributions and amendments to the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union and the Documents of the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union.
At the same time, they divided the discussion groups with many topics, including "Promoting dialogue and collective bargaining, focusing on ensuring wages, bonuses, working hours, time, rest, safety, and occupational hygiene"; "Focusing resources on developing union members, establishing grassroots unions in non-state enterprises and the informal labor sector; improving the quality of union activities to grow strongly"; "Comprehensive digital transformation in union activities, focusing on propaganda, gathering, caring for, and serving union members and workers" ...
On the same morning, the delegation attending the 1st Can Tho City Trade Union Congress, term 2025-2030, offered flowers, incense and presented gifts to Uncle Ho at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument (Ben Ninh Kieu, Can Tho City).
