Vinh Long Labor Union is united and innovative for workers
Vinh Long - Vinh Long Provincial Trade Union celebrates its 96th anniversary, continuing to affirm its role as a companion to workers.
On July 28, the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor (VFF) held a meeting to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2025), with the participation of leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, generations of union officials through the periods and representatives of trade unions at all levels in the province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor - affirmed that 96 years has been a proud journey of the Vietnam Trade Union in general and the Vinh Long Trade Union in particular. Through many historical periods, the Provincial Trade Union has always accompanied and protected the legitimate rights of workers.
Today's generation of union officials continues to promote the tradition with the spirit of innovation and creativity, taking workers as the center, taking practical efficiency as a measure.
From July 1, 2025, the Trade Unions of Vinh Long, Ben Tre and Tra Vinh provinces will merge into the new Vinh Long Provincial Trade Union. "In the new context, the Trade Union organization needs to be united and innovative to improve the effectiveness of caring for workers," Mr. Linh added.
At the meeting, delegates reviewed the Trade Union tradition and noted many effective models such as "Tet Sum Vay", "Union Shelter", "Back of Workers", "Worker's Month" ... continuing to promote in the new period.
In particular, in the period of 2022-2025, the "Back to Workers" program has supported thousands of union members to overcome difficulties, hundreds of workers to escape poverty, thereby affirming the real and close role of the Trade Union organization.
Many former leaders of Tra Vinh and Ben Tre Trade Unions (old) expressed their confidence in the adaptability and development of the Trade Union organization after the merger, emphasizing the role of solidarity, inheriting tradition and innovating activities in the digital transformation period, streamlining the apparatus.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Minh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province - acknowledged the results that the Trade Union organization has achieved in the past time.
He expressed his hope that after merging with the provincial-level trade union organization, the Trade Union will continue to accompany and take more practical care of workers and laborers in the area.
On this occasion, the Provincial Federation of Labor expressed gratitude to generations of union officials, businesses, sponsors and called on union members to continue spreading the spirit of solidarity, contributing to the development of the province in the new period.
