Soc Trang Trade Union is determined to build a streamlined and effective organization

Mr. Ngo Hung - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Party Agencies, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Soc Trang province attended and directed the Congress.

In the 2020 - 2025 term, the Party Committee has focused on leading the effective implementation of all aspects of Party building work, promptly implementing resolutions and documents of the Central and Provincial Party Committees; maintaining the regime of Party cell activities; strengthening inspection, supervision and cadre work. As a result, 8/9 term targets achieved and exceeded the plan, 1 target achieved over 89% of the content.

Over the past 5 years, trade unions at all levels in the province have maintained the implementation of cooperation agreements signed with organizations, units, and enterprises, with 94,404 union members enjoying incentives, with benefits of over 9 billion VND.

272,469 union members and employees in difficult circumstances and with serious illnesses were presented with gifts of money and gifts with a total value of over 120 billion VND. Along with that, 268 "Union Shelters" were newly built and repaired, worth over 11.9 billion VND. Especially during the period affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, workers have been cared for and supported with a total support value of over VND 26.9 billion.

The patriotic emulation movement has been innovated, attracting more than 35,900 initiatives applied in practice, with a profit value of over 250 billion VND. The program "1 million initiatives - efforts to overcome difficulties, creativity, determination to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic" launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has 6,888 initiatives participating, reaching 114.8% of the target (exceeding the target 10 months ago).

During the term, more than 27,000 new union members were developed; 6,683 outstanding union members were introduced to the Party, of which 5,163 were admitted. Propaganda and education work has been promoted in many modern forms, suitable for each grassroots target group.

The Congress discussed and agreed on the goals for the 2025 - 2030 term, in which 100% of party members registered to follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style; strive to have 100% of party members complete their tasks well or better each year, no weak party members; 100% of cadres, civil servants and public employees complete their tasks well or better, etc.

In his speech, Mr. Ngo Hung said that in the spirit of Resolution 18-NQ/TW, from July 1, 2025, the Soc Trang Provincial Federation of Labor will merge into the Can Tho City Federation of Labor. Therefore, he proposed to strengthen ideological work; perfect the organization after the merger; promote democracy associated with individual responsibility; improve staff capacity; strengthen inspection and supervision to ensure the stability and efficiency of the organization's operations in the new period.
