Union coordinates to mobilize 500 million VND to support disadvantaged students

According to MSc. Nguyen Huu Chien, Chairman of the Trade Union of Hanoi University of Business and Technology, currently the total number of union members is 1,194 people, operating at 49 departmental unions and affiliated union groups; including 749 female union members.

During the past term, activities to care for the material and spiritual lives of union members have been regularly focused on, salary and salary policies for teaching hours are commensurate with the volume and quality of labor; workers are supported in sudden difficulties, emulation bonuses, party support, summer vacation and holiday money, and are able to attend school to improve their qualifications and skills...

Notably, in 2024, the union coordinated with the school to mobilize and support 143 students whose families were affected by natural disasters and floods with a total amount of 350,000,000 VND; donated 450 million VND to support people affected by storm No. 3. In 2025, mobilize support for 102 students whose families were affected by natural disasters and floods with a total amount of 240 million VND; donate 350 million VND to support people in the Central and Northern mountainous areas affected by floods...

Every year, 95% of union members achieve the title of "Advanced Worker", no union members violate social evils. 100% of union members actively participate in emulation movements launched by Trade Unions at all levels and Schools. In particular, the Hanoi University of Business and Technology Trade Union achieved the title of grassroots Trade Union for successfully completing its tasks.

In addition to the achievements, the Truong Trade Union pointed out some limitations: Because working in a private environment, 100% of union officials from team leaders and above are on the same payroll, so there is little time for union activities; women's work is not even.

Speaking at the congress, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Cong Nghiep emphasized that Trade Union activities in the coming time need to focus on doing a good job of guiding the ideology of union officials and members, building solidarity and closeness in the collective of lecturers and staff; encouraging union members to contribute their efforts and intelligence to build and develop the school to be stronger and stronger, fighting to overcome limitations and shortcomings; promoting the emulation movement to achieve achievements to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the school's founding...

Speaking at the congress, Dr. Dang Hoang Anh - Vice President of the Vietnam Education Trade Union acknowledged the results that the Hanoi University of Business and Technology Trade Union has achieved in the recent period.

According to Dr. Dang Hoang Anh, to contribute to the successful implementation of the goals of the Congress, the Executive Committee of the Hanoi University of Business and Technology Trade Union needs to study and discuss including in the working program a number of tasks: Trade union activities are not separated from professional activities to achieve the common goal, which is to create stability and sustainable development of the school; focus on effectively performing the function of representation, protection, and practical care, for practical benefits of material and spiritual life for cadres, teachers, and workers; ensure the team of cadres, teachers, and workers feel secure in their work.

The Trade Union of Hanoi University of Business and Technology needs to attach importance to implementing grassroots democracy in a practical way, as the foundation of activities. Pay attention to building a cultural and friendly working environment, creating conditions for workers to maximize their potential, intelligence and role in building and developing the School, emphasized Dr. Dang Hoang Anh.
