The union coordinated to organize a "Union Meal" for workers
HCMC - Many ward unions in HCMC coordinated with grassroots unions (CDCS) and enterprises to organize "Union Meals" for workers.
On July 28, the Binh Dong Ward Labor Union, Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the Trade Union of Kim Hang aluminum and Plastic Joint Stock Company and the Company's Board of Directors to organize a "Union Meal" for nearly 300 workers of the company. Attending the meal were Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation Pham Chi Tam and a number of officials of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation.
The workers enjoyed a special meal including duck porridge, roast duck, steamed shrimp, beer soft drinks and desserts... The meal cost 55,000 VND/meal, an increase of 30,000 VND compared to normal meals.
On this occasion, Binh Dong Ward Union also presented 30 gifts including necessities to workers in difficult circumstances at the company.
Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation Pham Chi Tam thanked the Board of Directors of Kim Hang aluminum and Plastic Joint Stock Company for their attention and facilitation in organizing the "Union Meal", thereby strengthening the connection between workers, unions and businesses. At the same time, he hoped that businesses would regularly pay attention to and improve the quality of workers' shift meals.
Mr. Tam also suggested that union members, workers, and grassroots unions work hard, strive to compete, increase labor productivity, and stick with the company and trade union organization, thereby contributing to building the business to develop more and more.
A representative of the Trade Union of Kim Hang aluminum and Plastic Joint Stock Company said that the "Union Meal" program has contributed to supplementing nutrition and creating joy for the working group.
In particular, the program received support from businesses. After the first organization in May 2024, based on the proposal of the Trade Union, the Board of Directors of Kim Hang aluminum and Plastic Joint Stock Company decided to maintain a monthly "Union Meal" for employees from the enterprise's funding source.
On the same day, the Trade Union of Cat Lai Ward, Ho Chi Minh City also coordinated with Son Kim Production and Trading Joint Stock Company to organize the "Union Meal" program in 2025 with the theme "Full affection, full solidarity" with the participation of nearly 200 employees of the company. In addition to the company's 24,000 VND political shift meal, the organizing committee also added a meal worth 50,000 VND/meal, including grilled chicken, canned milk, fruit and yogurt.

The organizing committee also presented 22 gifts (worth 1 million VND/gift) to union members and workers in difficult circumstances. The grassroots union also gave each union member a gift worth 100,000 VND as a thank you and encouragement to work.
Organizing the "Union Meal" is a practical activity to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2025).
Along with organizing the "Union Meal" program, the Cat Lai Ward Union and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the ward have promoted and instructed union members and workers to install digital citizen applications, use online public services, as well as update common fraud methods and tricks in cyberspace. This is a practical activity to raise awareness, skills in risk prevention and protection of legitimate rights for workers in the digital age.
