Nghia Lo Trade Union and the "key" to establishing grassroots trade unions

In the past term, in the context of many intertwined difficulties and challenges, Lao Cai Provincial Trade Union has closely followed the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, proactively innovated the content and methods of operation in a practical and effective manner, focusing on the grassroots, taking workers as the center.

Identifying the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions as the core and backbone tasks of the trade union organization, the Nghia Lo Ward Trade Union has made efforts in propaganda and mobilization work to establish grassroots trade unions. As a result, there are 58 grassroots unions, with 2,858 union members (4 new grassroots unions were established in 2025 alone, with 264 union members).

To contribute to the above results, it is necessary to mention the establishment of informal grassroots unions, typically the Son Thinh Market Union established in January 2025.

Thanks to good propaganda and mobilization work and specific work, from 91 union members to now, there have been 199 union members, attracting 100% of workers at the market.

Although still young, the Son Thinh Market Union has gradually affirmed its role in representing and caring for union members and workers, especially doing a good job of humanitarian charity such as flood relief, building wells, giving gifts to the poor...

From the success of the Son Thinh Market Union model, Nghia Lo Ward Union continues to expand its work to the non-public education sector, thereby establishing a private nursery - preschool union and admitting 25 new union members.

Although their work is busy and their income is still unstable, all union members actively participate in all movements launched by the union: from professional activities, volunteer programs, to movements to build a safe and friendly educational environment.

The initiative, shock spirit and cooperative attitude of the preschool union members have shown that when the union comes to the right place, meets the right needs, workers are willing to accompany voluntarily and proudly.

The formation of preschool unions not only expands the scope of union activities, but also affirms that the model of "Friendly Trade Union - Community Connection" can be completely adapted and sustainably developed in many different types of labor.

Entering the 2025-2030 term, the Nghia Lo Ward Trade Union will continue to develop union members and establish grassroots unions so that each worker, regardless of the area, has a home to return to.
