Trade unions bring green models into residential areas
Through specific and practical actions, the Binh Thuan Ward Trade Union, Lam Dong province is gradually affirming the role of the Trade Union organization in participating in environmental protection, contributing to building green - clean - civilized residential areas.
Responding to the movement to build a civilized city, the Binh Thuan Ward Trade Union, Lam Dong province, has implemented the model "Trade Unions participate in protecting the clean environment in residential areas" for the period 2025-2030. This is considered a suitable approach, linking trade union activities with community life, towards the goal of improving the living environment from small, close actions.
Right from the deployment, the model has received positive responses from union members, workers and people in the area. Not stopping at movement-based campaigns, environmental protection activities are regularly maintained by the ward trade union, gradually forming the habit of maintaining general hygiene in residential areas.
Binh Thuan Ward Trade Union has launched grassroots trade unions in Phan Thiet Industrial Park to simultaneously launch campaigns to clean up the environment on roads and residential areas. The activity not only cleans up the landscape but also creates a connection between trade union members and local people, contributing to building the image of a Trade Union organization close to the people, close to the people.
From the reality in many neighborhoods that once had "black spots" of domestic waste, the Binh Thuan Ward Trade Union has proactively surveyed and coordinated with neighborhoods to arrange trash cans in suitable locations. Placing trash cans in the right places, convenient for people to dispose of garbage, has contributed to limiting littering and gradually improving urban aesthetics.
Ms. Le Huynh Thi Hoa Phuong - Chairwoman of Binh Thuan Ward Trade Union - said that the environmental protection model in residential areas is one of the key contents of the ward trade union in the period 2025-2030. Through this model, the trade union hopes that each union member and worker will become a "prophyunist", spreading the awareness of preserving the living environment to families and residential communities.
In addition to supporting facilities, the Binh Thuan Ward Trade Union also coordinates with residential areas to periodically maintain cleaning sessions, collect waste, clear bushes, plant and care for green trees on public roads and campuses. From cleaner roads, green spaces are being added, and community awareness in environmental protection is gradually being raised.
People in neighborhoods also recorded positive changes from this model. Mr. Le Luom, a resident of neighborhood 5, Binh Thuan ward, shared that since there are trash cans placed along the road, people have dumped garbage in the right places, and the road is cleaner.
When the environment changes, the awareness also changes. Everyone sees that maintaining general hygiene is necessary" - Mr. Luom said.
Assessing the model, Mr. Nguyen Phu Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation, said that the working method of Binh Thuan Ward Trade Union is practical and creative, contributing to concretizing the role of the Trade Union organization in participating in building urban landscapes, associated with grassroots emulation movements.
From the initial results, the model "Trade Unions participating in protecting clean environment in residential areas" is being considered as a basis for localities and grassroots trade unions to research and replicate, contributing to building a safe and sustainable living environment in the coming time.
