Agribank Trade Union attends the 8th Congress of Vietnam Bank Trade Union

The Congress is an important milestone, marking more than 30 years of building and developing the Vietnam Bank Trade Union - one of the major industry trade union organizations, with an important position and role in the Vietnam Trade Union system.

On December 25, 2025, the Vietnam Bank Trade Union held the first working session of the 8th Congress of Delegates, term 2025 - 2030. Attending the first working session of the Congress were Comrade Bui Manh Hoa - Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Comrade Doan Duc Han - Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; and members of the Steering Committee of the 5th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

On the side of the banking sector, there were Comrade Pham Tien Dung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Comrade Nguyen Khanh Chi - Member of the Executive Committee of the General Confederation, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Bank Trade Union; Comrade Tran Hong Tuan - Vice President of the Vietnam Bank Trade Union... and the presence of 297 official delegates who are union officials and outstanding union members from all levels of the Trade Union under the Vietnam Bank Trade Union, representing the intelligence of more than 200,000 cadres, union members and workers in the entire banking system. The Agribank delegation was honored to attend the Congress with 60 delegates, representing the will and aspirations of all union members and workers in the entire system.

Presenting the Review Report of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union, term VII, 2023-2028, Comrade Tran Hong Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union, said that in the 2023 - 2028 term, in the context of the world and domestic economy continuing to face many difficulties, slow growth, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and complicated geopolitical developments, harsh weather, directly affecting the operations of the banking industry, working conditions of cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers in the Industry. The implementation of streamlining the organizational apparatus and staffing of trade unions at all levels in the spirit of Resolution No. 60-NQ/TW dated April 12, 2025 of the 13th Party Central Committee and the plan to organize trade union congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term also has a certain impact on trade union activities at all levels in the system.

However, with the timely and close attention and direction of the State Bank Party Committee (now the Standing Committee of the State Bank Party Committee), the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the coordination and facilitation of the leaders of agencies and units in the banking sector, along with the solidarity and unity in the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee, the efforts in implementing the tasks with many rich, innovative and creative contents suitable to the characteristics of the situation and conditions of each period... Thereby, helping the activities of the Vietnam Bank Trade Union in the past time achieve many positive results, contributing to the trade union levels in the system to effectively implement the targets of the Resolution of the 7th Congress of the Vietnam Bank Trade Union, continuing to affirm the role and position of the Bank Trade Union in the banking sector as a center, a trust and confidence for employees.

In addition, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Bank Trade Union for the 2023 - 2028 term demonstrated a high sense of responsibility in directing and successfully implementing the Resolution of the 7th Congress of the Vietnam Bank Trade Union, creating solidarity from the industry level to the grassroots level, contributing to the good implementation of assigned tasks. At the same time, the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of this term have innovated their thinking in directing and operating, focusing on solving and implementing major problems of the Banking Trade Union organization, creating a breakthrough and an important highlight in trade union activities.

The activities of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Bank Trade Union during the term have had many positive, proactive, creative and innovative changes in organizing and directing the comprehensive implementation of all aspects of work to achieve good results, contributing to building the Vietnam Bank Trade Union to develop and be stronger.

At the first session, the Congress listened to the Review Report of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union, term VII; discussed and commented on the draft amendments and supplements to the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union and contents related to trade union organizations in the new period. Comrade Pham Tien Dung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam - was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Vietnam Bank Trade Union. With the spirit of democracy and responsibility, the Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union, term VIII, 2025 - 2030. Representative of Agribank, Comrade Tu Thi Kim Thanh - Member of the Board of Members, Chairman of Agribank Trade Union, Comrade Nguyen Trung Dung - Permanent Vice Chairman of Agribank Trade Union, Comrade Nguyen Tien Truong - Head of Agribank Representative Office in the Central region, Comrade Vo Viet Hung - Head of Agribank Representative Office in the Southern region, Comrade Nguyen Thuan Phong - Director of Agribank Thanh Hoa Branch were elected as members of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Bank Trade Union, term VIII, 2025 - 2030.

Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Pham Tien Dung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam - affirmed that in the first working session, the delegates promoted a sense of responsibility, intelligence, focused on implementing and successfully completing all the contents and programs set out in the first session of the Congress. In order for the program to go on schedule and solemnly and achieve results, the Deputy Governor requested the delegates to strictly implement the working regulations of the Congress on time, costumes, awareness, sense of responsibility, rights and obligations of delegates according to regulations, contributing to the success of the Congress.

With the consent of the Standing Committee of the State Bank Party Committee and the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, at the Congress, Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dung announced the trieucement of the First Executive Committee Conference to elect the Standing Committee, Inspection Committee, positions in the Executive Committee, Inspection Committee of the Vietnam Bank Trade Union, term VIII, 2025 - 2030 and approved a number of tasks after the Congress.

Agribank affirms the role, contribution and responsibility of Agribank Trade Union towards the banking industry and the country

Attending the 8th Congress of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union, Agribank has 60 official delegates, of which 57 delegates were elected from the 7th Congress of the Agribank Trade Union and 03 natural delegates, representing all union members and workers in the entire system.

Agribank delegates fully and responsibly participated in the contents of the Congress; actively discussed and contributed opinions to documents, especially issues related to building a team of employees in the banking industry in the context of digital transformation, green development, and streamlining the apparatus.

At the first session of the Congress, Agribank Trade Union was honored to present a speech with the theme "Cultural culture of enterprises and professional ethics standards - the foundation for the activities of the Banking Trade Union in the new era". Referring to the issue of strategic significance for the sustainable development of the entire banking industry in the current period, the speech of Agribank Trade Union emphasized that in the context of extensive integration and digital transformation, corporate culture and professional ethics are not only spiritual values, but also a hedge against risks, a driving force for innovation and the soft power of the banking industry.

From the practice of Agribank - a state-owned commercial bank playing a key role in investing in the development of "Tam Nong", the speech affirmed that building a corporate culture associated with professional ethics standards, the rule of law, and dedication to serving customers is a decisive factor in building a team of brave, professional, responsible and humane workers.

In the period of 2020 - 2025, Agribank Trade Union with many outstanding marks, made practical contributions to the overall achievements of the banking industry and the socio-economic development of the country.

Agribank Trade Union has closely coordinated with professionals in developing and supervising the implementation of policies on wages, benefits, insurance, and working conditions; supporting hundreds of union members in difficult circumstances and suffering from serious illnesses; effectively organizing the programs "Tet Sum Vay", "Union Meal", periodic health check-ups... contributing to stabilizing life and strengthening the trust of workers.

Agribank Trade Union is the core to spread corporate cultural values through emulation movements, professional competitions, and cultural and sports activities. Agribank Trade Union has also implemented many social security activities, with a total budget of over 110 billion VND, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction, supporting disadvantaged areas, and overcoming natural disasters.
