Workers access digital transformation
The online contest "Workers, civil servants, and employees of the banking industry learn about occupational safety and hygiene" in 2025 organized by the Vietnam Banking Trade Union (VBV Trade Union) for union members and employees working in agencies, units, and enterprises nationwide in the banking industry.
The contest focuses on learning about knowledge about occupational safety and hygiene, including: Legal documents related to occupational safety and hygiene as stipulated in the Labor Code; Law on occupational safety and hygiene; documents and papers issued by the Government, the Prime Minister, ministries, branches and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
To have practical results and improve knowledge about occupational safety and hygiene in the most effective way, workers can study online. Each student is granted a separate account, using a smartphone (computers, phones, tablets, etc.) to log into the system to study and take multiple-choice tests anytime, anywhere with the internet.
Along with the competition, trade unions at all levels in the system have implemented more than 800 communication, training, inspection, supervision, and emulation activities towards occupational safety and hygiene with the participation of more than 50,000 union members and employees. Movements such as "Green - Clean - Beautiful", "Good workers - Creative workers", or tree planting activities, improving working conditions, continue to spread the spirit of proactiveness, creativity, self-defense and self-defense of colleagues in the office and production environment.
The contest marked a change in the method of propaganda and training on occupational safety and hygiene knowledge when for the first time the industry organized the online contest "Workers, civil servants, and employees of the banking industry learn about occupational safety and hygiene", applying a modern, friendly and accessible E-learning platform.
Changing awareness, attitude and behavior of workers
Within just 10 days, the contest attracted nearly 10,000 union members and workers from the whole industry to participate, with a completion rate of over 92%. The two topics on occupational safety and environmental protection are designed to be concise, easy to understand, and close to reality, helping workers raise awareness, be more proactive in preventing occupational accidents and diseases, and at the same time contribute to building a culture of occupational safety from the roots - that is the mindset and habit of safe behavior.
Not only stopping at the propaganda stage, occupational safety and hygiene work is also integrated into the Collective Labor Agreement, regularly inspected and supervised, and more importantly, integrated into the organizational culture of each unit. The safety and hygiene network system has been strengthened and trained synchronously; trade unions at all levels have also actively participated in negotiations on shift meals, labor protection, and support for workers at risk.
The success of the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene and the E-learning Competition does not stop at numbers. Most importantly, it is a real change in awareness, attitude and behavior of workers in ensuring safety - an issue of survival. By smoothly combining tradition and innovation, legal knowledge and practical skills, the Banking Trade Union is gradually affirming its central role in caring for, protecting and developing the banking industry's workforce in the digital transformation era, towards a "safe - sustainable - happy" working environment.
