Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai was appointed as President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation
Can Tho - Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai was appointed to hold the position of President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation (CLF) for the 2025 - 2030 term.
On December 29, the 1st Can Tho City Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030, completed the entire working program.
The Congress has set out 3 breakthroughs: focusing resources on developing union members, establishing grassroots unions (CDCS) in non-state enterprises and the informal labor sector; improving the quality of union activities to become increasingly strong; Promoting dialogue and collective bargaining, focusing on contents related to wages, bonuses, working hours, rest hours, safety, and occupational hygiene; Comprehensive digital transformation in union activities, focusing on propaganda, gathering, caring for, and serving union members and workers.
The Congress has announced the Decisions to appoint the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, the Inspection Committee and positions in the Executive Committee, the Inspection Committee; appointed delegates to attend the 14th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, term 2026-2031.
The Executive Committee of the Can Tho City Labor Federation, term I, 2025 - 2030, was appointed to include 28 comrades. Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai was appointed to hold the position of President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation for the 2025 - 2030 term.

At the Congress, Ms. Ho Thi Cam Dao - Member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City - said that the city is currently facing opportunities and challenges, requiring all levels of Trade Unions to truly "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - New - Development" to continue to innovate the organization and operation in the spirit of Resolution No. 02/NQ-TW dated June 12, 2021 of the 13th Politburo on innovation of the organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Unions in the new situation.

To successfully implement the targets and tasks in the 2025 - 2030 term, the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City suggested that the Executive Committee of the City Labor Federation and all levels of the Trade Union should identify the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of employees as the operational goal, the core task throughout and an important factor in gathering, connecting union members with the Trade Union organization and building a strong Trade Union.
At the same time, constantly innovate content and methods, improve the effectiveness of Trade Union activities; Strengthen the application of digital technology and digital data; develop online interaction platforms; maintain two-way information channels to grasp the needs of employees as quickly as possible.
Trade unions need to proactively participate with the political system to build Can Tho City to develop quickly and sustainably. Promote the role in building office culture, corporate culture; mobilize union members and employees to comply with the law, maintain urban discipline; build a team of skilled, disciplined, responsible workers to meet development requirements in the new period.

On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City presented 10,000 scholarships to children of union members and workers in difficult circumstances in the city, in order to support them to go to school.

Closing the Congress, Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation Le Thi Suong Mai emphasized that with the spirit of "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development", the City Labor Union is determined to accompany the Party Committee and the government to build Can Tho into a central urban area of the Mekong Delta.
Immediately after the Congress, it is recommended that Trade Unions at all levels urgently organize research, dissemination, and extensive propaganda of the Congress Resolution; concretize it with practical action programs and plans, creating clear changes in the movement of workers, civil servants, laborers and the activities of the City Trade Union from the first years of the term.
