An Giang develops union members to link quantity with quality
An Giang - In the first 6 months of 2025, Trade Unions at all levels have directed activities to develop union members on the basis of increasing quantity with quality.
In the first 6 months of the year, the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in An Giang province has achieved many positive signals, such as: developing 7,620 union members, establishing 18 grassroots unions.
To date, the whole province has 123,052 union members/125,689 workers and civil servants working at 1,489 grassroots unions and trade unions. Thereby, 703 outstanding union members have been introduced to the Party for consideration of admission. Of which, 102 outstanding union members are workers in non-state enterprises. As a result, 211 outstanding union members were admitted to the Party.
This shows that the quality of union members is constantly improving. This is considered a great effort of the An Giang Provincial Trade Union in the context of many enterprises having broken orders, leading to a situation where workers and laborers reduce working hours, employment...
Specifically, since the end of 2025, the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor has thoroughly grasped the spirit of the Trade Union at all levels in the province: "Focus on developing union members; participating in building a clean and strong Party"; continue to implement Program No. 08/CTr-LDLD, dated April 4, 2024 of the Executive Committee of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor on developing union members, establishing grassroots unions; improving the quality of Trade Union activities at all levels, period 2023 - 2028.
On that basis, on January 13, 2025, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor issued Plan No. 151/KH-LDLD, on developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in 2025. At the same time, strengthen and perfect the Steering Committee for Union Member Development, establish grassroots unions, deploy the "Pikes month for developing union members, establishing grassroots unions; introducing outstanding union members to the Party".
In addition, 2 working groups were established to survey the work of developing union members, establishing grassroots unions and trade unions in 2025 at 12 enterprises in 06 districts: Chau Phu, Chau Thanh, Cho Moi, Tri Ton, Thoai Son and Phu Tan.
This is considered a practical measure towards dual goals: grasping the production and business activities of enterprises, the implementation of labor laws, regimes and policies for employees. At the same time, clearly understand the labor recruitment needs of businesses to support... Thereby orienting activities in the coming time and guiding and supporting the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots unions.
In parallel with increasing the development of quantity, Trade Unions at all levels have constantly innovated the content and methods of Trade Union activities to improve the quality of union members. Notably, the organization and coordination of training and coaching on trade union skills for 1,828 full-time and part-time trade union officials on propaganda and mobilization skills to develop union members, establish grassroots trade unions; grassroots trade union accounting skills; oral propaganda skills; skills and methods to grasp public opinion; effective methods and methods of fighting, performing well the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting and refuting erroneous and hostile views...
From those practical approaches, Trade Unions at all levels have had more foundation to promote creativity in developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions and trade unions with a new mindset: linking increase in quantity with improving quality. Thereby contributing to creating a widespread influence, positive effects among union members, workers and society for the Trade Union organization in Uncle Ton's hometown in particular and the whole country in general.
