Retirement age in 2026 for civil servants and public employees in normal working conditions

Article 32 of the Law on Cadres and Civil Servants 2025 stipulates:

2. Civil servants are allowed to retire according to the provisions of the Labor Code, except in cases prescribed by competent authorities.

Thus, civil servants are allowed to retire according to the provisions of the 2019 Labor Code, except in cases prescribed by competent authorities.

Article 46 of the 2010 Law on Civil Servants stipulates:

Pension regime

1. Civil servants are entitled to pension benefits according to the provisions of the law on labor and the law on social insurance.

Accordingly, the retirement age of civil servants according to current regulations is also implemented according to the 2019 Labor Code.

Article 169 of the 2019 Labor Code stipulates the retirement age as follows:

2. The retirement age of employees in normal working conditions is adjusted according to the roadmap until reaching 62 years old for male employees in 2028 and 60 years old for female employees in 2035.

From 2021, the retirement age of employees in normal working conditions will be 60 years and 3 months for male employees and 55 years and 4 months for female employees; after that, it will increase by 3 months each year for male employees and 4 months for female employees.

Thus, the retirement age in 2026 for civil servants and public employees under normal working conditions is 61 years and 6 months for men and 57 years for women.

The retirement age in 2025 for civil servants and public employees under normal working conditions is 61 years and 3 months for men, 56 years and 8 months for women.
