Responsibilities of homeroom teachers when rewarding and disciplining students

The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Clause 3, Article 18 of Circular 19/2025/TT-BGDDT of the Minister of Education and Training (effective from October 31, 2025) stipulates the responsibilities of homeroom teachers as follows:

a) Strictly implement regulations on rewards and discipline of students;

b) Propose forms of rewards and discipline for students under the authority of the principal;

c) The focal point helps the principal coordinate with the student's family and other forces to promote the student's abilities, promptly reward and encourage him, and advise, supervise, manage, and support in limiting student violations.

d) Responsible before the law and before the principal for the implementation of the work of rewarding and disciplining students under their authority.

Thus, homeroom teachers have the above responsibility when rewarding and disciplining students.
