Participating in supplementary pension insurance, what is the responsibility of employees?

Clause 2, Article 8 of Decree 85/2026/ND-CP Regulations on supplementary pension insurance (effective from May 10, 2026), stipulates that employees participating in supplementary pension insurance have the following responsibilities:

a) Fully access documents introducing supplementary pension insurance funds, information disclosure content of enterprises managing pension funds; understand the supplementary pension insurance program and risks that may arise when participating in the supplementary pension insurance program; understand tax policies for employers and employees; self-assess, be responsible for their participation decisions and bear the risks arising in participating in the supplementary pension insurance program. The State does not guarantee the investment results and payment level of the supplementary pension insurance fund.

b) Performing obligations according to written agreements between employees and employers, supplementary pension insurance programs registered with the enterprise managing the pension fund and the Charter of the supplementary pension insurance fund registered to participate.

c) Compliance with the provisions of this Decree and relevant legal regulations.

Thus, from May 10, 2026, employees participating in supplementary pension insurance are responsible as above.
