Article 39 of Decree 282/2025/ND-CP regulating administrative sanctions for violations in the fields of security, order, and social safety; prevention and control of social evils; prevention and control of domestic violence (effective from December 15, 2025) stipulates acts of insulting the honor and dignity of family members

1. Fine from 5 million VND to 10 million VND for insulting, sparing a mark or other intentional acts of insulting the honor and dignity of family members, except for the cases specified in Clause 2 of this Article.

2. Fines from VND 10 million to VND 20 million for the act of revealing or disseminating information about the private life, personal secrets, and family secrets of family members to insult honor and dignity.

3. Remedial measures:

a) Forced to publicly apologize when the victim of domestic violence has a request at his/her private home, workplace, other location or on the mass media for the violation of the provisions of Clauses 1 and 2 of this Article;

b) Forced to revoke documents, papers, leaflets, articles, and images for violations specified in Clause 2 of this Article.

Thus, from December 15, 2025, husbands who reveal their wife's personal secrets to offend her honor and dignity can be fined up to 20 million VND.
