Cases where personal data is disclosed
A reader with email thuthuyxxx@gmail.com asked: In which cases is personal data allowed to be made public?
The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:
Clause 2, Article 16 of the Law on Personal Data Protection 2025 (effective from January 1, 2026) stipulates that personal data can only be made public in the following cases:
a) With the consent of the personal data subject;
b) Implement in accordance with the provisions of law;
c) The case specified in Point b, Clause 1, Article 19 of this Law;
d) fulfill contractual obligations.
Thus, the above cases are allowed to have their personal data made public.
