Find a part-time job to increase income during Tet
Hanoi Employment Service Center has just coordinated with Thuy Loi University to organize the "Open Day & Job Fair 2026" Program. The program brings thousands of job and internship opportunities for students, providing recruitment information for part-time positions from many industries and fields.
As a first-year student majoring in Environmental Engineering, Vu Thi Van Anh (18 years old, Hanoi) said that participating in the transaction session is aimed at learning about and visiting large businesses that recruit in the right major to better orient her future studies.
Previously, Ms. Van Anh used to do many part-time jobs such as serving drinks at water stalls and eateries around the school area, with a common salary of 20,000–25,000 VND/hour, working hours from 6–8 hours per day, sometimes up to 10 hours. “I work mainly to earn extra income for personal expenses and partly help my parents,” Ms. Van Anh shared.
Mr. Vu Duc Minh - a final year student (Hanoi University of Civil Engineering) said that income is the factor he is most concerned about when looking for seasonal jobs during Tet.
Currently, Mr. Duc Minh is working a class shift for an English center, working hours from 6 pm to 9 pm daily, with an income of about 100,000 VND/shift. "Because I don't have much experience, for me at this time, income is the most concerning thing. I want to find a seasonal job during Tet with a higher income to cover expenses and prepare for Tet," Mr. Minh said.
Increasing the recruitment of seasonal workers during Tet
Directly participating in labor recruitment, Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Trang - representative of Phuc Long Heritage Joint Stock Company said that Tet is the peak business season, so the business focuses on recruiting many positions in the operating block, including management and supervision; especially it is necessary to add a large number of workers for cashier, server, bartender positions...
Part-time workers in Hanoi area are entitled to a salary of 25,000 VND/hour, plus a meal allowance of 20,000 VND/shift when working at least 4 hours. "On Tet holiday, in addition to the salary enjoyed according to regulations, we also give lucky money at the beginning of the year to employees on the 1st day of Tet and you can also proactively register for a work schedule suitable for yourself," Ms. Trang said.
According to Mr. Vu Quang Thanh - Deputy Director of Hanoi Employment Service Center, the job transaction session has the participation of more than 43 businesses, recruiting nearly 2,000 targets, providing part-time and full-time jobs. In which the part-time labor segment and seasonal jobs increased sharply due to the time near the Lunar New Year.
Mr. Thanh said that in recent years, the trend of recruiting seasonal workers before, during and after Tet has become increasingly popular, meeting the increasing demand of businesses during peak periods. Organizing the transaction session at this time is to create conditions for students, especially students from other provinces, to have the opportunity to directly approach businesses and find short-term jobs during the Tet holiday.
