Recruitment is difficult, many businesses in Hai Phong have to hire workers
Hai Phong - On the morning of August 29, the City Labor Federation worked with businesses that are using labor leasing services in the area.
At the conference, representatives of enterprises in industrial parks and clusters in the area discussed and shared about the current labor recruitment situation as well as the use of labor leasing services in the past. Through discussion, many large enterprises in industrial parks in the East of Hai Phong are in need of recruiting a large number of workers, mainly unskilled workers.
Although recruitment units are continuous and coordinate with many diverse recruitment channels, the number of applications is still very low compared to demand. Therefore, units are forced to find labor leasing units to have enough people to meet the actual production situation.
According to businesses, some businesses currently have up to 50% of their total number of employees. Some businesses have to re- hire 100-200 workers/month. To have enough workers, many businesses have to sign contracts with 5-6 supply and leasing units...
However, the use of labor for leasing also has disadvantages when this laborload is constantly changing, causing waste of time and labor training costs for businesses.
Not to mention, businesses that employ labor for lease cannot control the implementation of policies for employees of the supplier, especially in terms of wages and social insurance (SI). The number of leased workers in the East of Hai Phong alone has reached more than 20 thousand people, most of whom do not participate in the Trade Union organization, affecting the development of union members in the city as well as the rights of workers are not guaranteed.
The representative of the City Labor Federation requested the Trade Union Working Committee to record and synthesize the opinions of the units to study and propose timely support plans. Trade unions at all levels coordinate with enterprises to widely inform about labor attraction policies, labor recruitment needs, and welfare regimes of each enterprise.
Along with that, continue to propagate and develop union members in the seasonal and sublease labor force, striving to complete the target of developing 85,000 union members in 2025.
