Many Hanoi businesses face the challenge of recruiting unskilled workers at the end of the year
Hanoi - The sudden increase in production demand at the end of the year is causing many businesses to search for unskilled labor.
High demand, scarce supply
According to the reporter's records at a November job fair in Hanoi, the recruitment atmosphere was bustling with dozens of participating businesses. In contrast to the diversity of recruitment positions, many businesses have difficulty finding unskilled workers, especially direct production workers.
Talking to reporters, Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Ha - Deputy Head of Human Resources Administration Department of Dong Anh Steel Pipe Manufacturing Company Limited - said that businesses are in great need of recruiting mechanical workers, especially welders and electromechanical repair workers.
"Young people who have just graduated do not want to find heavy jobs, so our recruitment positions face many difficulties," Ms. Ha shared.
Ms. Ha added that many young people today tend to choose lighter jobs in industrial parks, instead of specific jobs that require physical physical training such as mechanics and manufacturing. This causes businesses in the heavy industrial manufacturing sector to face many challenges in attracting human resources, even though the demand is year-round, not just at the end of the year.
Not only the manufacturing sector, but also enterprises in the service sector are in a similar situation. Ms. Nguyen Hoai Trang - founder of a startup company on family service - said that the company's goal is to recruit 30-50 unskilled workers to meet the demand for cleaning and helping to increase by the end of the year.
"At the end of the year, most customers want to use home cleaning services. Therefore, we need to recruit a large number of workers in this field," said Ms. Trang.

Online recruitment channels are gradually losing confidence, businesses are looking for exchanges
One of the reasons why unskilled labor recruitment is more difficult is due to inefficiency and risks from online recruitment channels.
According to Ms. Huyen - human resource manager of Comess Company (Construction Steel structures Joint Stock Company), recruitment scams on social networks have made workers very reserved in providing information.
"Currently, fraudulent information related to online recruitment is causing difficulties for genuine recruitment units," Ms. Huyen commented.
Sharing the same view, Ms. Nguyen Hoai Trang also said that online recruitment forms often receive negative feedback because many brokerage centers lack reputation, affecting even genuine businesses.
Because of these shortcomings, many businesses have chosen to return to job exchanges and direct recruitment fairs. Meeting and consulting directly not only helps businesses screen candidates better but also build trust for workers.
"When we directly advise employees, they will understand more about the company's job and recruitment goals than online," Ms. Trang emphasized.
