Workers lack skills in the context of rapid increase in AI application
The report "Workers' satisfaction level 2026" by Manpower Company shows that workers are lacking skills in the context of strong AI application.
Manpower pointed out 5 main results in the report:
The gap in confidence in using AI is increasingly clear
Although AI is being applied more and more widely, the level of confidence of workers in technology has decreased significantly when this year's survey measured more AI usage capabilities. This decline is most severe in older workers, specifically a 35% decrease in Baby Boomers (61-79 years old) and a 25% decrease in Generation X (45-60 years old). This is also the main reason why the level of satisfaction of workers in general has decreased compared to last year.
gaps in training are undermining workers' confidence
More than half of the global workforce said they have not attended any recent training courses (56%) and have not had the opportunity to be mentored by a experienced person (57%). As the application of AI increases rapidly, this shortage makes timely skills provision for workers an urgent challenge.
Comprehensive happiness of workers has many concerns
Nearly two-thirds (63%) of workers said they are often exhausted, mainly due to stress (28%) and too much workload (24%). Although the overall happiness index remains stable at 67% in 2026, these figures reveal the pressure that workers are facing in the context of many changes today.
Financial pressure is increasing, especially for Generation Z
The current trend of being attached to work does not simply come from loyalty but also from financial needs. Half of the workforce (50%) said they are doing many ways to increase their income. This rate is especially high among Gen Z workers (68%).
Workers' feelings are strongly differentiated between countries
India leads the global in terms of employee satisfaction (77%) and AI employment (77%), while Japan recorded the lowest rate - only 48%.
