Hai Phong expands online job market, consulting for tens of thousands of workers

Nearly 230,000 workers participate in trading sessions

According to the report of the Hai Phong City Employment Service Center, in 2025, the unit will organize 114 job fairs, including 70 periodic job fairs at the center, 36 online fairs, 2 mobile fairs and 6 job fairs and career counseling in communes, wards and some schools in the area. The job fairs attracted nearly 1,700 businesses with a total recruitment demand of nearly 406,000 workers; of which female workers are 186,426 workers (accounting for 46% of the total recruitment positions).

The demand for labor recruitment increased by 223%, of which the majority were unskilled workers (nearly 360,000 people), the rest were workers with elementary to university degrees. Through the sessions, nearly 230,000 workers were provided with job counseling, 39,600 of whom were selected for initial training and found suitable jobs.

In November alone, Hai Phong Employment Service Center organized 14 job fairs, 7 periodic job fairs at the center; 3 online job fairs connecting provinces and cities across the country. The trading sessions attracted more than 26,000 workers, nearly 5,000 workers were selected first and had jobs.

Uses of digital transformation in job consulting and introduction

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Head of the Department of Job Consulting and Introduction - Labor Market Information, Hai Phong Employment Service Center, said that in 2025, the number of shifting workers between localities will increase sharply, the trend of finding jobs through online channels such as Facebook and TikTok will become popular, especially in the age group from 18-35 (accounting for 70% of the shifting workforce). Therefore, the Center researched and applied digital transformation in job consulting and introduction, notably 36 online job fairs, attracting tens of thousands of workers.

Every Monday, the Center organizes online trading sessions and livestreams connecting 20 provinces/cities across the country to guide workers in Hai Phong to access direct connecting links to participate in interviews with businesses in other provinces/cities, and opportunities to change careers according to actual needs.

With this form, the online job fair has a time to attract more than 3,500 followers, 135 businesses participate in recruitment with about 20 thousand job positions.

Thanks to the online model, workers in 20 provinces and cities can apply for a job at a company in Hai Phong without having to move. The live broadcast is not only valuable at the time of broadcast but it also helps workers to track the process and register for direct application information with businesses that have participated in the session.

Hai Phong Employment Service Center has become a national pioneer in organizing multi-provincial online job fairs, multi-platform communication, and applying AI in labor recruitment with many outstanding features said Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh.

In the coming time, at the Job Consulting Festival organized by the City Labor Federation (December 5 to 7), in addition to more than 90 direct job consulting booths at the Vietnam-C around-Tiep Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, the City Labor Federation also deployed a parallel online job exchange. Thereby, connecting workers from far away, without the opportunity to come and listen to direct advice.
