Hanoi businesses are optimistic, recruitment increases salary positions by 10-20 million VND/month

In August 2025, Hanoi continued to record very positive results. Following the growth of the macroeconomic index in the first 8 months of the year, the Industrial Production Index (IIP) increased by 6.5%, total retail sales of goods and services increased by 12.6%, total FDI attracted was 1.6 times higher than the same period last year.

The August labor market reflected the optimism of businesses with estimated recruitment demand reaching over 50,000 positions. The recruitment structure has clearly shifted: The demand for workers with a university degree or higher has decreased to 28.55%, while the demand for recruitment for positions with a salary of 10 - 20 million VND/month has increased sharply, accounting for 37.41% of total demand. This shows that businesses are focusing on finding specialized and experienced personnel to meet job requirements, instead of only prioritizing degrees.

According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, in the last months of the year, the labor market is expected to shift from seasonal human resource demand to more stable positions. The main growth driver will come from the trade - service sector when entering the peak year-end shopping season and the construction industry thanks to the acceleration of public investment disbursement in key projects.

It is estimated that in the city, in August, workers in need of job search were over 40,000 people. The desired salary of those who are mainly looking for jobs in the general segment is from 5 - 10 million VND/month, accounting for 84.49%, from 10 - 20 million VND/month, accounting for 13.65%, the salary over 20 million VND/month, accounting for about 1.82%.
