Registration for unemployment benefits reduced by 24.41%
Ho Chi Minh City - In the first quarter of 2026, the number of people applying for unemployment benefits decreased by 24.41% compared to the fourth quarter of 2025.
Information from the Ho Chi Minh City Employment Service Center on March 31st said that in the first quarter of 2026, this center received 33,199 applications for unemployment benefits, down 24.41% compared to the fourth quarter of 2025. At the same time, there were 191,122 turns of people coming to announce their job search status, down 13.08% compared to the fourth quarter of 2025.
The Ho Chi Minh City Employment Service Center has submitted to the Department of Home Affairs for signing and promulgating 32,165 decisions on receiving unemployment benefits for workers, a decrease of 29.75% compared to the fourth quarter of 2025.
The Ho Chi Minh City Employment Service Center also regularly coordinates closely with Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance to review information on the software for managing collection, issuing social insurance books and health insurance cards. Through this, promptly detect, review and handle cases of unemployment benefits not in accordance with regulations.
This action contributes to ensuring transparency and fairness in the implementation of unemployment insurance policies, while improving the efficiency of management and use of the Unemployment Insurance Fund in accordance with the law.
