Immediately after Panko Vina Co., Ltd. announced the termination of production and business of the factory in My Phuoc 1 Industrial Park (from February 1, 2026), agencies in Ho Chi Minh City had a meeting with businesses and workers.

Mr. Truong Van Phong - Deputy Head of the Management Board of Export Processing and Industrial Zones of Ho Chi Minh City - said that the unit has connected and many businesses are eager to recruit workers of Panko Vina Company Limited. The Management Board has requested businesses to arrange time and create favorable conditions for businesses to directly come to the company to recruit workers, ensuring that workers are not unemployed.

The representative of the Trade Union of Panko Vina Company Limited also said that the unit has reported to the system of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union about the situation of the enterprise and shared information with the union chairmen of other companies, thereby connecting to introduce jobs to workers. Currently, many units have contacted to recruit workers, and workers are also approaching to make a choice.

Meanwhile, from the local perspective, on January 4 and 11, the People's Committee of Thoi Hoa Ward organized a job fair. 34 enterprises in Thoi Hoa ward and neighboring wards have recruited with a demand of over 10,000 workers.

The leader of the Ward People's Committee said that the job fair is one of the activities to care for workers who have lost their jobs. Through this program, we hope to connect to help workers stabilize their jobs and lives before the Lunar New Year 2026.

Trade Union takes care of Tet for workers

The Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union has directed the trade unions of communes, wards and grassroots trade unions to review and grasp the lives of workers. At the same time, a list of workers in difficult circumstances will be made for the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Union to take care of during the 2026 Lunar New Year.

This year, the theme of the program is "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Ung Deng" and the motto is "All union members and workers have Tet, enjoy Tet". The subjects of care are union members and workers who have had accidents, serious illnesses, long-term illnesses, and occupational diseases. Trade unions support workers who have lost their jobs, have reduced working hours, stopped work, or temporarily postponed labor contracts due to difficulties in enterprises...

According to the records, in the northern area of Ho Chi Minh City, there are 3 local management teams of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union, the unit has allocated support gifts to the Teams to give to union members and workers. The level of care for each case ranges from 500,000 VND to 1 million VND. The Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union will take care of about 117,000 workers in the northern area of Ho Chi Minh City.

Many activities will be organized such as "Tet Sum Vay" associated with the program "Union Tet Market - Spring 2026". Trade unions at all levels will encourage visits, give gifts, give bus tickets, train tickets, plane tickets... to workers in difficulty.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Dat - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - informed that the Head of the Area Management Working Group No. 9, the unit was allocated to give 20,000 gifts to disadvantaged workers. The group will present 24 air tickets, 100 train tickets, and 600 bus tickets to workers in difficult circumstances who have not returned home for Tet for many years. Notably, workers who have lost their jobs and are facing difficulties will also be supported with 500,000 to 1 million VND.
