Opportunities for demobilized soldiers to participate in the labor market

Learn about a job before being discharged from the army
According to the Hanoi Employment Service Center, the thematic job fair for demobilized soldiers has 31 participating units with a total of 2,170 recruitment, enrollment, study abroad, and labor export targets. Of which, 1,315 recruitment targets with a variety of positions and professions; 855 enrollment targets.
Coming to the job training session, Mr. Do Hong Phong (20 years old), currently working at the Armored Battalion (Hanoi Capital Command) said that he wanted to refer to the profession and study for more degrees before being discharged from the army in January 2026, and at the same time learn more about the labor market.
I have previously done some extra jobs related to game graphics and interior design. Here I want to find a job to earn extra income and then study more, supplement my qualifications to find a job that suits my interests and expertise in graphic design. I also do not have specific expectations for the salary, depending on the performance of the work I can do, said Mr. Phong.
Mr. Tran Van Bach (21 years old, Guards Battalion - Military Control, Hanoi Capital Command) shared that after 2 years in the army, he did not know how the foreign labor market had changed, so he attended the job exchange session for him to refer to job positions first.
"I will be in action in about a month. I am wondering whether to continue studying or switch to a new major. I personally like to work in a creative and dynamic environment, so I want to aim for marketing positions to learn more and have practical experience, Mr. Bach shared.
Potential from the labor force is the demobilized army
The GDVL session is not only an opportunity for demobilized soldiers who have returned to their localities and soldiers who are about to complete their job search service; businesses also see the potential from this workforce.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - representative of Bao An 247 Real Estate Company Limited (under SunGroup) said that the demobilized soldiers have many similarities to the security positions that the company needs to recruit.
Mr. Anh said: The demobilized soldiers are people who are trained in a disciplined environment, have a good physical foundation, are able to adapt and quickly keep up with the work and current needs of the company. We have a salary and benefits for demobilized soldiers of 13-15 million VND/month. The company always prioritizes recruiting security positions, this group can be trained and promoted to higher positions".
Attending the session, Mr. Nguyen Duy Huan - representative of 19.8 Protection Service Company Limited - Hanoi City Police hoped to receive about 100 candidate applications.
"We want to recruit demobilized soldiers, soldiers are about to join the army. In December, we had to increase personnel to protect the order of Hoan Kiem Lake area both at night and during the day, from Monday to Friday, so we really need more people. We ensure a salary of 7-12 million VND/month, depending on the job position, age or achievements in the work process, the company will also have additional rewards, said Mr. Huan.
According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luong - Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Home Affairs, implementing the direction of the Hanoi Department of Home Affairs, the Hanoi Employment Service Center coordinated with the Military - Staff Department (Hanoi Capital Command) to organize a thematic job fair for demobilized soldiers.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luong emphasized: After 10 years of implementation, the program has created more than 2,000 jobs, opening up many practical opportunities for soldiers after their discharge in the area. This is a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of the synchronous coordination between the military, government and businesses; helping young people feel secure when returning to their hometowns to start a business".
The thematic job fair for demobilized soldiers in 2025 has 31 participating units. Of which, 19 enterprises are in the trade - service sector, the rest are enterprises operating in fields such as manufacturing, construction and business...
The recruitment target for workers with college and university degrees or higher is 364; for workers with intermediate degrees - technical workers is 437; for unskilled workers is 514 with income divided according to recruitment needs from 5-15 million VND/month.
Employment opportunities are divided into mainly 18-25 age groups with 747 targets; 26-34 age group with 314 targets, the rest are 35 and over age groups with 254 targets.
