The Vietnam Health Trade Union posthumously awarded a Certificate of Merit to the female nurse at Huu Nghi Hospital for her noble act of donating organs to save lives.

On January 19, a working delegation of the Vietnam Health Trade Union led by Dr. Nguyen Luong Tam - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, President of the Vietnam Health Trade Union burned incense to commemorate, visit, encourage the family and posthumously awarded a Certificate of Merit to nurse N.T.C (46 years old, former nurse of the Department of Nephrology - Blood Leakage, Huu Nghi Hospital), at a private home in Dong Anh Commune, Hanoi City.

During her work at the Department of Nephrology - Blood Clotting, Friendship Hospital, nurse N.T.C has always been highly appreciated by her colleagues for her sense of responsibility and dedication to patients.

The incident occurred when Ms. N.T.C suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and was taken to the stroke Center, 108 Central Military Hospital for treatment. Although she was wholeheartedly treated by doctors and nurses, due to the seriousness of her illness, she did not survive. Her family made a humane decision to donate organs to relatives to save the lives of other patients waiting for the opportunity to receive organ transplants.

The members of the working group respectfully offered incense and expressed their gratitude to a dedicated medical officer who devoted all his heart to the cause of caring for and treating patients and donated organs to save people after their deaths.

Mr. Nguyen Luong Tam affirmed that this is not only the pride of the family and the Friendship Hospital but also a shining example of medical ethics, compassion and the spirit of dedication to the community of medical practitioners.

The working group kindly visited and encouraged the female nurse's two children, sharing the difficulties and losses that the family is facing. Chairman of the Vietnam Health Trade Union Nguyen Luong Tam said that trade union organizations at all levels will continue to care, accompany, and support the family, especially the study and stabilization of the lives of Ms. N.T.C's children in the coming time.
