Actively respond to and effectively participate in emulation movements

Nearly 100 union officials from the southern provinces and cities participated in the Workshop to collect comments, perfect the reward regulations of the trade union organization and evaluate the preliminary review of 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 07/NQ-TLD of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, 12th tenure on "Innovation of emulation and reward work among workers, civil servants, laborers and trade union activities" (Resolution 07) organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on November 21 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong said that in the spirit of Resolution 07, over the past 5 years, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has twice amended the Regulations on Rewards, ensuring compliance with the Law on Emulation and Commendation (amended), along with new regulations of the State.

This amendment has helped to remove many practical obstacles, creating a clearer and more consistent legal corridor for the trade union system at all levels, thereby contributing to promptly encouraging and motivating union members, employees and collectives with outstanding achievements.

However, in the context of many changes in the organizational apparatus, some regulations in the Commendation Regulations of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor need to continue to be improved to meet new realities.

The report at the workshop also stated that in the 5 years of implementing Resolution 07, emulation movements have been focused on by trade unions at all levels, strongly innovating in content and form, creating a vibrant atmosphere in production, work and study, arousing the proactiveness, dynamism and creativity of union members and employees.

Trade unions at all levels have actively responded and effectively participated in emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister such as: "The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas"; "For the poor, No one is left behind"; "The whole country competes for innovation and digital transformation" and the "digital education movement" movement...

In particular, the emulation movement "Workers, civil servants, and laborers strive to overcome difficulties, be creative, and determined to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic" is the concretization of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to suit the role and responsibility of the trade union organization.

Through the movement, many activities to support union members and workers have been implemented, many new models have been effectively implemented such as: "COVID-19 Safety Group", "0 VND Supermarket", "0 VND Market", "0 VND Boarding House", " Free Rice Atm", "Union affection", "Love Food" ... The most typical are the creativity in organizing the Program "75 thousand initiatives, overcoming difficulties, developing" and the Program "01 million initiatives - striving to overcome difficulties, being creative, determined to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic".

Emulation movements in the Vietnam Trade Union have contributed positively to the socio-economic development of the country.

Shifting from a formal movement to a practical result

In the coming time, the Vietnam Trade Union will continue to thoroughly grasp and implement Directive No. 41 - CT/TW dated December 26, 2024 of the Politburo on "Enhancing the Party's leadership in emulation and reward work in the new situation"; Resolution No. 02 - NQ/TW of the Politburo on "Innovation of organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Union in the new situation"; Resolution No. 07/NQ-TLD of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, term XII on "Innovation of emulation and reward work among workers, civil servants, laborers and trade union activities"; Promoting patriotic emulation movements associated with "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style".

In particular, focus on thoroughly grasping and implementing the guiding viewpoint of General Secretary To Lam on emulation work: "Switching from a formal movement to practical results, based on data and figures; prioritizing models that can be replicated quickly, have reasonable costs, have a great impact on life, and bring practical benefits to the people".

The workshop also acknowledged the contributions of delegates to perfect the reward regulations of the trade union organization. Many opinions suggested that it is necessary to simplify procedures and records for reward proposals; supplement regulations on evaluating and evaluating emulation with ward, commune and special-zone trade unions because this is a new type; supplement regulations on reward for newly established trade unions but with outstanding achievements; award the Emulation Flag of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to trade unions...
