5,702 ideas, bringing in 322 billion VND in profit

Innovation in the content of organizing emulation movements

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Le An Hai - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade (VTC) said that every year, the VTC has coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to issue a Joint Directive on organizing emulation movements. Thereby, units in the industry have deployed plans to each facility, focusing on organizing and implementing emulation movements for good workers and creative workers with the goal of "Improving productivity, quality, efficiency, economy and ensuring occupational safety and hygiene".

"It can be said that the emulation movement of implementing units in the Industry and Trade sector has had high results, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor always commends and rewards. Over the past 5 years, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has awarded nearly 500 Creative Labor Certificates to individuals with outstanding achievements in the "Good workers, Creative workers" movement, with a profit value of thousands of billions of VND. Many initiatives and solutions cannot be calculated in money but have great social significance, Mr. Le An Hai shared.

To achieve the above results, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has innovated the content and had a form of organizing emulation movements suitable for each type of union organization. For example, for private enterprise trade unions and foreign-invested enterprises, trade unions have had specific regulations on the way of organizing movements and assessing flexible and convenient emulation, simplifying procedures, focusing on the production and business efficiency of enterprises and the income of employees.

The grassroots trade unions in enterprises and public service units have negotiated to include in the Collective Labor Agreement or internal regulations and rules of the unit and enterprise the worthy rewards for individuals and groups with initiatives and solutions that bring many benefits from emulation movements.

The focus is on the emulation movement "Good workers, Creative workers"

Mr. Nguyen Huy Thong - Chairman of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union (VTC) said that in response to the emulation movements launched by the VTC, the VTC has deployed them to affiliated units. In particular, the emulation movement to gather creative ideas, initiatives and creative labor is a spearhead movement, the focus of the union's activities to exploit the intelligence of the force of science and technology cadres, managers and technical workers.

In the 2023-2025 period, a total of 5,702 union members' ideas were registered, of which 4,370 initiatives were applied in practice with a profit of 322 billion VND.

44 people have been awarded the Creative Labor Certificate by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Of which, management staff at all levels account for 61.4%; technical staff and direct production workers account for 38.6%; female staff account for 5.0%.

Typical in the emulation movement "Good labor, creative labor" are Lam Thao Superphosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company, Da Nang Rubber Joint Stock Company, Southern Rubber Industry Joint Stock Company, Southern Battery Joint Stock Company, Sao Vang Rubber Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Institute of Industrial Chemistry, Viet Duc Electric Welding Rod Joint Stock Company, Ninh Binh Fertilizer Company Limited...

According to Mr. Nguyen Huy Thong, many units have promptly encouraged and rewarded employees in proposing new ideas and initiatives by sending letter of commendation to all individuals with ideas, big or small. Many units also immediately reward those with ideas and proposals with money from 300,000 to 500,000 VND; the highest reward for employees' ideas is Ninh Binh Concentration Joint Stock Company at 2 million VND/idea.

Many units also awarded individuals with the Creative Labor Certificate from 3 million to 5 million VND/person by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Some units also create conditions for individuals with achievements to travel domestically and internationally.
