In case the Chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level is fined up to 37.5 million VND

Decree No. 218/2025/ND-CP (effective from August 5, 2025) stipulates administrative sanctions for violations in the field of national defense and cryptography.

Clause 1, Article 52 of the Decree stipulates the authority to sanction the Chairmen of People's Committees at all levels for administrative violations in the field of national defense as follows:

1. The Chairman of the People's Committee of a commune, ward, or special zone (hereinafter referred to as the commune level) has the right to:

a) Warning fine;

b) Fine up to VND 37,500,000;

c) Confiscation of exhibits and means of administrative violation;

d) Apply remedial measures prescribed in Points a, h and i, Clause 1, Article 28, Law on Handling of Administrative Violations; Clause 3, Article 5 of this Decree.

Thus, from August 5, 2025, the Chairman of the People's Committee at the commune level will be fined up to 37.5 million VND for administrative violations in the field of national defense.
