The validity of the confirmation certificate is not subject to re-issuance or extension of a labor license
The Government has just issued Decree 219/2025/ND-CP regulating foreign workers working in Vietnam.
In particular, Articles 14 and 17 clearly stipulate that the validity period of the confirmation certificate is not subject to a re-issued or extended labor license.
Specifically as follows:
Article 14. The validity of the confirmation certificate is not subject to re-issuance of a re-issued labor license.
The validity of the confirmation certificate not subject to a work permit reissued is equal to the validity of the confirmation certificate not subject to a work permit issued, deducting the time the foreign worker has worked up to the time of submitting the application for a work permit reissuance certificate not subject to a work permit.
Article 17. The validity of the confirmation certificate is not subject to an extension of the labor license.
The validity of a certificate not subject to a work permit can be extended according to the validity of one of the cases specified in Article 21 of this Decree but can only be extended once with a maximum duration of 2 years.
