Positions of militia and self-defense commanders are entitled to an allowance of VND 491,400/month

Clause 1, Article 7 of Decree 72/2020/ND-CP amended by Clause 1, Article 1 of Decree 16/2025/ND-CP stipulates as follows:

Allowance regime for the position of militia and self-defense commander

1. The allowance for the position of Militia and Self-Defense Commander is paid monthly, the level of benefits is as follows:

a) Commander and Political Commissar of the Commune-level Military Command; Commander, Political Commissar, Military Command of the agency or organization: 561,600 VND;

b) Deputy Commander, Deputy Political Commissar of the Commune-level Military Command; Deputy Commander, Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Command of agencies and organizations; Battalion Commander, Political Commissar of the Battalion; Squadron Commander, Political Commissar of the Squadron; Squadron Commander, Political Commissar of the Permanent Militia Squadron; Company Commander, Political Commissar of the Mobile Militia Company: 514,800 VND;

c) Deputy Battalion Commander, Deputy Battalion Political Commissar; Deputy Squadron Commander, Deputy Squadron Political Commissar; Deputy Squadron Commander, Permanent Deputy Political Commissar of the Militia Squadron; Deputy Squadron Commander, Deputy Political Commissar of the Mobile Militia and Self-Defense Company: 491,400 VND;

d) Company Commander, Company Political Commissar; Squadron Commander, Squadron Political Commissar; Lieutenant of Mobile Militia, Permanent Militia Company Commander: 468,000 VND;

dd) Village team leader: 280,800 VND and receive an additional 100% allowance for the position of platoon leader when concurrently holding the position of platoon leader of the on-site militia, or 100% allowance for the position of platoon leader when concurrently holding the position of platoon leader of the on-site militia. In case the village organizes a militia group on site, it will receive an additional 100% of the position allowance of the squad leader;

e) Deputy Company Commander, Deputy Company Political Commissar; Deputy Squadron Commander, Deputy Squadron Political Commissar: 351,000 VND;

g) Lieutenant Commander; Permanent militia squad leader: 280,800 VND;

h) Squad leader, Captain, and Squad Leader: 234,000 VND.

Thus, the positions of militia and self-defense commanders have a position allowance of more than 491,400 VND, including: Deputy Battalion Commander, Deputy Battalion Political Commissar; Deputy Squad Leader, Deputy Political Commissar of the regular militia and Coast Guard; Deputy Company Commander, Deputy Political Commissar of the mobile militia and self-defense company.
