As Chairman of the Trade Union of JFE Shoji Hai Phong Steel Company Limited, Mr. Dang Van Hiep not only launched a movement of good and creative workers to each union member and employee but also set an example in contributing initiatives and benefiting the enterprise.

Initiative to shorten data connection time

After many years of trying his hand in many different fields and jobs, in 2016, Mr. Dang Van Hiep returned to work at JFE Shoji Hai Phong Steel Company Limited and has been there until now. Currently, Mr. Hiep is Head of the Planning Department and Chairman of the Company's Trade Union. Every year, Mr. Hiep contributes ideas to solve problems at work, contributing to improving labor productivity and the working environment. A typical example is the initiative "Developing a method of wireless connection between a mobile station and a computer via wifi based on the Remote control ( Windows) feature and remote Controller software of Keyence" in 2024.

Regarding this initiative, Mr. Dang Van Hiep shared that before the improvement, the connection between the handheld station and the computer was done through physical connection, only compatible with the Windows 7 operating system - which no longer has security support. This process causes many problems such as employees having to bring handheld station machines to the office to connect, production interruptions, high security risks, unstable connections and easily causing data loss or data errors.

From this reality, Mr. Hiep researched the use of wifi networks to connect wirelessly between a handheld station and a computer. This connection method helps shorten data retrieval time, stable connection, without interrupting production (handheld machines are still used for production during the connection and data exchange process)... helping the company reduce 2.5 hours on all production lines per month.

The initiative has been applied at factories No. 1 and 2 since the beginning of 2024 on a total of 7 production lines. Thereby, helping to reduce production interruption time due to waiting for connection and data collection, high reliability. At the same time, it increases efficiency by reducing labor costs due to automation, to transfer surplus labor to other lines. Each year, the initiative contributes to saving costs up to 1.2 billion VND for the company. The initiative also helped Mr. Hiep receive the Creative Labor Certificate from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for the first time in 2024.

Spreading the movement to each union member and employee

As Chairman of the Company's Trade Union, Mr. Dang Van Hiep said that his participation in initiatives not only contributes to improving productivity and benefiting the enterprise but also spreads the movement of good and creative workers to each union member and employee. According to Mr. Hiep, the creative labor movement at the company is built into a specific program, with specific evaluation and reward levels. At the end of the year, the company evaluated 3 outstanding improvements to reward and honor. Thanks to that, employees are excited, actively participate in initiatives, improvements, and contribute from the smallest ideas. In 2024 alone, the company has 80 improvement ideas on safety, quality, productivity and welfare, of which 3 initiatives were awarded the Creative Labor Certificate by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

In addition to promoting emulation movements, Mr. Hiep regularly proposes to the Executive Committee solutions to care for employees. Recently, the company's trade union organized a conference for workers, successfully organized dialogues and negotiated to increase the welfare regime such as raising the shift meal allowance from VND 30,000 to VND 36,000/meal; a special monthly meal increased from VND 50,000 to VND 70,000/meal; increased the bonus for senior workers for 5 years of work from VND 5 million to VND 7 million/person...
