Union members receive support for Trade Union Shelters on the occasion of Workers' Month

The two union members receiving support funds from the Gia Lam District Labor Federation are Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh (Trade Union of Stanley Vietnam Electricity Company Limited) and Ms. Hoang Thi Ngoan (Trade Union of Gia Lam Urban Environment Joint Stock Company). Each union member is supported with 40 million VND to build a Union Shelter.

These are 2 union members with difficult housing circumstances. Previously, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh lived in a level 4 house built a long time ago, seriously degraded, with peeling, cracked walls, mold, mold, and a dilapidated roof. Currently, she alone takes care of her mother who is old and weak, without a pension. The salary of 9 million VND/month is sometimes not enough to cover the living expenses of the mother and child, so she cannot afford to repair the house.

Ms. Hoang Thi Ngoan lives in a dilapidated level 4 house with peeling walls and leaky roofs. In 2010, her husband died in a traffic accident, she raised 2 children alone. With an income of 7 million VND/month, Ms. Ngoan has to save maximum in spending to cover the living expenses of 3 mother and child, so her dream of building a spacious house has not been realized.

Receiving support from the City Labor Federation, the two women were very touched and shared that this is the motivation for them as well as family members to feel secure in studying, working, and contributing.
