Soc Trang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Trade Union goes to Tet market to help union members and workers

Can Tho - Maintened since 2019, the "Tet Obstetrics and Pediatrics Market" model helps union members of Soc Trang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital shop for Tet conveniently and at reasonable prices.

On February 12, the grassroots Trade Union of Soc Trang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital organized the 2026 Obstetrics and Pediatrics Tet Market model.

Ms. Duong Thi Hoang Yen - Chairwoman of the grassroots Trade Union of the Hospital - said that in order to care for the lives of union members and workers every Tet holiday, the grassroots Trade Union has maintained the "Tet Market for Obstetrics and Pediatrics" model from 2019 to now. Through many years of implementation, the activities have become more and more regular, becoming a familiar support for union members, civil servants, public employees, and workers in the unit.

Accordingly, the Women's Union proactively selects and introduces essential and quality products, goods and services from OCOP enterprises, along with sources of vegetables, tubers, and fruits from Da Lat and vegetable growing areas in Dai Tam area... to serve the Tet shopping needs of union members. Goods are synthesized according to pre-orders, purchased at wholesale prices, delivered directly at the unit, helping union members save time and costs but still ensure quality.

According to Ms. Yen, the model is implemented with the aim of supporting union members to shop more conveniently during the peak period at the end of the year.

Instead of each person having to go to the retail market themselves, the Women's Union team stands out to summarize orders, contact supply sources, buy the correct registered quantity, not buy out. Prices are taken directly from the warehouse, we try to support union members as much as possible. Thanks to placing large quantities, goods are both guaranteed quality and have reasonable prices," Ms. Yen informed.

As one of the union members participating in the model from the early days, Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Le highly appreciates the practical significance of this activity.

“Launching the movement helps union members participate more actively, which is both a common activity of the Trade Union and creates a competitive atmosphere in the unit. The most important thing is practicality, because the items serving Tet are all essential necessities, so everyone responds very fully,” Ms. Le said.

According to Ms. Le, at the end of the year, the workload is very large, while Tet markets are often crowded and prices fluctuate. "If you go to the market yourself, you have to jostle, buying each item takes a lot of time, and the price is high. Ordering through the Trade Union is reasonable, you don't have to go to the crowded market, it's very convenient," she said.
