1,500 athletes participate in the Sports Festival of Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group
The 2025 Southern region Sports Festival of the Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group organized by Petrovietnam Trade Union took place on the evening of June 20.
The sports festival officially opened at the Vietsovpetro Cultural and Sports Center, Vung Tau City.
The Southern region sports festival took place from June 20-22 with 10 competitions, gathering nearly 1,500 athletes from 25 affiliated trade unions.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nghiem Thuy Lan - President of Petrovietnam Trade Union - emphasized that the sports festival is an opportunity to light the fire of enthusiasm, spread the spirit of "Health to build and protect the Fatherland"; a useful playground for union members and workers to have the opportunity to exchange, learn, enhance solidarity, express their mettle and resilience, towards an active, positive and healthy lifestyle.
This is a meaningful playground, contributing to spreading the spirit of physical exercise, enhancing exchanges, cohesion, arousing creativity and promoting the spirit of solidarity among Petrovietnam's workforce.
The sports festival was practically organized to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day (September 2); to celebrate the 4th Petrovietnam Party Congress, term 2025-2030 towards the 14th National Congress of the Party; to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of Petrovietnam.
