Approaching Tet, many pediatric patients at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion are still staying for treatment. On February 12, the Golden Heart Charity Social Fund presented 120 gifts, bringing the warmth of early spring to children and families.

On the occasion of Binh Ngo Tet 2026, the Tam Long Vang Charity Social Fund organized a gift-giving program for pediatric patients being treated as inpatients at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion.

On February 12th (December 25th of the lunar calendar), the Golden Heart Charity Fund presented 120 Tet gifts to pediatric cancer patients undergoing inpatient treatment, bringing the warmth of spring and timely sharing. These gifts are the hearts of officials and employees of Lao Dong Newspaper sent to pediatric patients.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Thanh - Standing Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper and leaders of Lao Dong Newspaper directly went to the Department of Pediatric Hematology to visit, encourage and give gifts to young children staying at the hospital to welcome the New Year. Each gift includes milk and lucky money of 500,000 VND, showing the affection and care of officials, reporters, and readers nationwide to the sick children.

Kindly holding hands with each child, comrade Nguyen Duc Thanh encouraged the children to take care of their health, feel secure in treatment, and trust the doctor's regimen to return to their families soon. At the same time, he also sent New Year greetings to the team of doctors and physicians of the institute, hoping that doctors will continue to be steadfast and dedicated in the journey of caring for and treating patients.

Amidst the white hospital beds, patient Nguyen Hai Dang (5 years old, in Hai Phong) is still bravely fighting blood cancer discovered more than a month ago. Although near Tet, due to his serious condition, Dang still has to be treated. This Tet, the two mothers and children will celebrate New Year's Eve in the hospital room.

This is the first year the two mothers and daughters celebrate Tet in the hospital. It's also very sad, but I always encourage my daughter to try her best. Thanks to the care of the hospital and philanthropists, we have more motivation to continue treatment" - Dang's mother choked up sharing.

Dang is just one of nearly 100 pediatric patients who have to stay at the Department of Pediatric Hematology during Tet this year. On average, the Department treats nearly 200 pediatric patients every day. Mild cases are facilitated to go home for monitoring, and most of the rest are children with dangerous diseases, from many remote provinces and cities, with difficult family circumstances. According to the Department representative, this is also the year with the largest number of pediatric patients staying at the hospital to celebrate Tet ever.

However, the spring atmosphere is still present in every hospital corridor. Peach branches and kumquat trees are decorated throughout the departments, bringing warm spring colors to dispel some of the feeling of being away from home. The hospital leadership has developed a plan to take care of Tet for patients, and it is expected that free meals and necessities will be distributed to patients and their families during the 4 days of Tet.

Red lucky money envelopes, spring greetings and the companionship of the Golden Heart Fund have contributed to igniting faith and adding strength to pediatric patients. In the moment of transition from the old year to the new year, in the special space of the hospital, spring still comes - with love, sharing and with hope for a healthier tomorrow for the children.

The National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion is synchronously implementing measures to ensure medical examination and treatment, emergency care and blood reception during Tet. Units proactively forecast enough blood, preparations, medicines, and equipment; arrange 24/24h duty. It is expected that about 250 seriously ill patients will celebrate New Year's Eve at the institute and will be given lucky money on the 26th day of Tet. Nutrition work is also fully prepared for officials and patients.

From the 1st day of the twelfth lunar month to the end of Tet, the Institute coordinated 150 charity delegations to give gifts and lucky money to nearly 7,000 patients, with a total value of 3.6 billion VND; 51 delegations supported 7,560 meals worth 115 million VND.

The Institute continues to call for blood donation, especially groups O and A, opening all Tet days from 7am to 6pm to receive blood donation, while ensuring safe testing, preparation and transportation of emergency blood.
