LD26227- Heartbreaking family 5 years carrying 5 upheavals: Son lost, wife and son-in-law both get cancer
In 5 years, Mr. Lo Van Phanh's family has suffered 5 consecutive upheavals, from losing loved ones to illness, cancer, and accidents.
In a level 4 house in Xuan Tien village (Xuan Binh commune, Thanh Hoa province), Mr. Lo Van Phanh (born in 1971) slowly tells about what happened to his family. Every time he mentions it, he becomes silent, because in just a few years, the already difficult house has continuously experienced losses and illnesses.
In 2021, his son unfortunately died of electric shock while working. That sudden departure left behind a 1-year-old child who lost his father, and at the same time became a great pain for Mr. and Mrs. Phanh.

Before he could calm down, in 2022, Mr. Phanh had another accident while hired to transport and paint in the Lam Son area. The accident caused him to break a bone and have to be treated for many months. Since then, his health has declined, and he is no longer able to do heavy jobs to earn a living as before.
Thinking that the family had gone through the most difficult period, at the end of 2025, his wife, Ms. Luong Thi Tam, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
By May 2026, Mr. Phanh's health also showed many abnormal signs. He had chest pain, choking, and shortness of breath, so he went for examination and was diagnosed with 4 diseases including hepatitis, pneumonia, kidney stones and thyroid tumor. At the same time, he had to worry about his wife's cancer treatment, and he himself suffered from many diseases, making the burden on his family even heavier.

Worry has not stopped. In July 2026, Mr. Truong Van Hien - Mr. Phanh's son-in-law was diagnosed with liver and gallbladder cancer and had to undergo radiation therapy. His daughter, who was taking care of her mother, now has to return to take care of her seriously ill husband.
Successive illnesses have made the family's meager income increasingly depleted. With poor health, Mr. Phanh can only accept light jobs when someone hires him. Meanwhile, the cost of medicine and treatment for his wife and son-in-law arises frequently.
His grandson, after losing his father, is currently being cared for by his grandparents and relatives. His mother, Ms. Ha Thi Hue, has to work as a worker in Bac Ninh. Work and income are both limited, so each time she can send back a small amount to help her parents take care of their children, she tries to send it.
There are days when no one hires me, I don't even have 50,000 VND to buy medicine for my wife. Seeing my wife in pain, seeing my grandchild crying and demanding food, I am helpless and only know how to sit and cry. I'm not afraid of death, I'm just afraid that if I die, no one will take care of my wife and grandchild," Mr. Phanh choked up.
In the midst of life piled up with difficulties, Mr. Phanh's family really needs support to have more conditions to cover living expenses and treatment costs for those who are sick.
