Changes to regulations on Deputy Commander of Commune-level Military Commands from 1.7.2025
The regulations on Deputy Commanders of Commune-level Military Commands have changed from July 1, 2025.
According to Point d, Clause 1, Article 20 (amended by Point b, Clause 9, Article 10 of the Law amending 11 Laws on Military and Defense 2025, effective from July 1, 2025), the Deputy Commander of the Commune-level Military Command is a civil servant.
Previously, based on the provisions of Point d, Clause 1, Article 20 of the 2019 Law on Militia and Self-Defense Forces, which stipulates the Military Command at the commune and village levels, the Deputy Commander is a part-time employee at the commune level.
According to Official Dispatch 03/CV-BCD in 2025, the use of non-professional workers at the commune level will end from August 1, 2025...
Thus, the Deputy Commander of the Commune-level Military Command is a civil servant from July 1, 2025, instead of a part-time worker at the commune level as previously prescribed.
