According to initial information, the incident occurred early in the afternoon of November 4 at the wood factory of Kiet Lam YB Limited Liability Company (located at ( Au Lau Industrial Park, Au Lau Ward) with Mr. Bui Duc Truong as legal representative.
At that time, 2 workers were testing the production line when they suddenly fell from a height of about 6 meters to the ground.
The accident killed 1 male worker and injured 1 person.
Mr. Do Viet Bach - Head of Lao Cai Province Industrial Park Management Board - confirmed the incident and said: Kiet Lam YB Limited Liability Company is in the process of running a trial to check environmental-related contents, before officially starting operation, the incident occurred.
According to the records at the scene, the factory area of Kiet Lam YB Limited Liability Company is over 4 hectares wide, the business type is processing wood chips and wood tablets, currently the factory has full machinery and workers.
Upon receiving the report, Lao Cai Provincial Police and representatives of the Procuracy were present to conduct an autopsy to serve the investigation.
Speaking with Lao Dong, Ms. Dinh Thi Hong Lan - Deputy Head of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks of Lao Cai province - said: After grasping the incident, professional staff went to the scene to inspect and coordinate to clarify.
