New duties of the Village Chief from August 22, 2025
The village chief has a new task from August 22, 2025 in the People's Air Defense Steering Committee at the commune level.
Decree No. 198/2025/ND-CP detailing a number of articles and measures to implement the Law on People's Air Defense, effective from August 22, 2025.
Clause 4, Article 7 of the Decree stipulates the organizational structure of the People's Air Defense Steering Committee at the commune level as follows:
a) The head of the Steering Committee is a Vice Chairman of the People's Committee.
b) Deputy Head of the Steering Committee
The Standing Deputy Head of the Committee is the Commander of the Military Command;
The Deputy Head of the Steering Committee is a Deputy Chief of the Public Security.
c) Members of the Steering Committee are a number of cadres appointed by the Provincial People's Air Defense Steering Committee; a Deputy Chief of Police; Village Chiefs (hamlets, hamlets), Heads of Residential Groups and a number of key cadres according to the organizational structure of the Commune People's Committee.
Thus, from August 22, the Village Chief is one of the members of the Commune-level People's Air Defense Steering Committee.
