Student health insurance contribution rate for the 2025-2026 school year
The level of health insurance contribution for students in the 2025-2026 school year is based on the basic salary, in addition to the State's support level.
According to Hanoi Social Insurance, in the 2025-2026 school year, based on the provisions of Clause 4 and Point d Clause 6, Article 6, Decree No. 188/2025/ND-CP dated July 1, 2025 of the Government detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance 2024, the monthly health insurance contribution for students is equal to 4.5% of the current basic salary and is supported by the state budget with 50% of the health insurance contribution for students.
The current basic salary for the 2025-2026 school year (currently the latest basic salary from July 1, 2024 according to the provisions of Decree No. 73/2024/ND-CP) is VND 2,340,000/month. Thus, the amount of health insurance payment for students in the 2025-2026 school year (12 months) is: 4.5% x 2,340,000 x 12 = 1,263,600 VND/year.
Of which, students paid 50% of 631,800 VND/12 months and the State Budget supported 50% of 631,800 VND/12 months.
