Conditions for social pension beneficiaries to receive a higher amount of VND 500,000/month

Article 3 of Decree 176/2025/ND-CP (effective from July 1, 2025) stipulates as follows:

Social pension subsidy level

1. Subjects specified in Article 2 of this Decree are entitled to a monthly social pension allowance of VND 500,000/month.

In case the subjects specified in Article 2 of this Decree are also subjects receiving monthly social allowances, they will receive a higher allowance.

2. Depending on socio-economic conditions, the ability to balance the budget and mobilize social resources, the Provincial People's Committee shall submit to the People's Council of the same level a decision on additional support for social pension beneficiaries.

Thus, subjects eligible for monthly social pension benefits and are also subjects receiving monthly social benefits will receive a higher subsidy.

Currently, according to Decree No. 76/2024/ND-CP, the standard social allowance level applied from July 1, 2024 is VND 500,000/month.

At the same time, depending on socio-economic conditions, the ability to balance the budget and mobilize social resources, the Provincial People's Committee shall submit to the People's Council of the same level a decision on additional support for social pension beneficiaries.

According to Article 2 of Decree No. 176/2025/ND-CP, the subjects and conditions for receiving social pension benefits are as prescribed in Article 21 of the Law on Social Insurance as follows: 1.

Vietnamese citizens are entitled to social pension benefits when meeting the following conditions: a) Being 75 years of age or older; b) Not receiving monthly pension or social insurance benefits; or receiving monthly pension or social insurance benefits lower than the pension benefits prescribed in this Decree; c) Having a written request to receive social pension benefits.







2.Vietnamese citizens aged 70 to under 75 who are poor or near-poor households as prescribed by the Government and meet the conditions specified in Point b and Point c, Clause 1 of this Article.
