Ba Ria - Vung Tau - Delegates contributed 15 opinions at the workshop to develop a draft guidance on the organization and operation of social funds and charity funds.

On May 12, the Department of Legal Policy and Labor Relations (CSPL and QHLD) of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held a workshop to collect comments on draft guidelines on the organization and operation of social funds and charity funds of trade union organizations in the Southern region.

Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Ha - Member of the Presidium of the Head of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - chaired the workshop.

In the workshop, Mr. Ngo Quang Khanh - an officer of the CSPL and QHHD Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - briefly presented the main contents of the draft, including general regulations; conditions and procedures for establishing the fund; establishment content; fund operations; fund charter; implementation organization.

In particular, note some main contents on founding members; capital contribution sources to establish a fund; activities after establishing a fund.

During the discussion, most delegates highly agreed with the contents of the draft guidance. Some localities have established funds to share some favorable contents and problems in the process of establishing and operating social funds and charity funds of trade union organizations.

Other localities also raised the remaining questions; shared practical activities in the locality and contributed many opinions to develop draft guidelines.

Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Ha - Head of the CSPL and QLD Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - said that the workshop received 15 comments from Southern units. At the same time, it answered some of the questions that delegates still wondered about in the draft.

"Through the workshop, we will receive comments from delegates to continue developing draft guidelines; then refer to and synthesize opinions from departments to continue perfecting. It is expected to be submitted to the Presidium for consideration in June, and issued for implementation in July 2025," said Ms. Ha.
