Hai Phong completes a dormitory for workers
Hai Phong - After more than 2 years of implementation, Pegatron Vietnam Workers' Housing Area has completed phase 1, accommodating about 4,000 workers.
Large-scale workers' housing project in Hai Phong
The Pegatron Vietnam Co., Ltd. Workers' Housing Project Phase 1 is one of 12 projects and works inaugurated and started construction to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day.
The project is implemented in Dong Hai 2 ward, Hai An district, Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone, Hai Phong, built on the basis of the development orientation of Pegatron Vietnam Co., Ltd., in accordance with the general planning of the city. The project is deployed on an area of 5.04 hectares with a total investment of up to 68.3 million USD, equivalent to about 1,600 billion VND.
After nearly two years of implementation, phase 1 of the project has been completed and put into use 4 buildings for workers, 2 buildings for staff and 1 utility building with full modern functional rooms, accommodating about 4,000 people.
Phase 1 is completed to help workers do not have to move far or rent in places that do not guarantee living conditions, helping the company not to arrange workers to pick up workers, save time and cost. At the same time, the project also actively contributes to the implementation of the project "Investing in building at least 1 million social housing apartments for low -income subjects, workers in industrial parks for the period 2021 - 2030" of the Government. When completed, the project will meet accommodation for about 10,000 workers.

Research on housing support policies for workers
Previously, Mr. Le Trung Kien - Head of Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board - informed that the Pegatron Vietnam Co., Ltd. Workers' Housing Project is the second project of the city (after the project of LG Display Co., Ltd.) assigned by the city to lease land to invest in building a dormitory for workers.
Along with this project, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board also awarded an investment certificate for the project to build a worker housing area for the investor of Universal Industrial Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone) with a total investment of 18.34 million USD, land area used for 2.4 hectares, construction scale of 4 7-storey dormitories and 1 3-storey public utility building, serving accommodation for a maximum of 4,000 workers.
The Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board noted that businesses are researching to have other policies to attract workers, especially being able to study policies to partially support workers' funding to buy social housing. Thereby, gradually solving social security problems, improving the material and spiritual life of workers, contributing to the development of human resources for the city.
