Trade union of 3 wards in Da Nang organizes Workers' Month running tournament - Solidarity Run

News from the Da Nang City Labor Federation on April 6th said: The Trade Union of 3 wards including Hoa Khanh, Lien Chieu and Hai Van organized a conference to sign a coordination plan and announce the decision to establish the organizing committee of the "Workers' Month - Solidarity Run 2026" Running Tournament.

This is a key sporting event to practically respond to Workers' Month 2026 and towards the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026).

The tournament carries the message of spreading the spirit of health training, exchange, and tightening the spirit of solidarity between trade union officials, union members, and workers with leaders of units in 3 wards.

The "Workers' Month - Solidarity Run 2026" running race will take place on Sunday morning, May 10, 2026 at the connecting road to Lien Chieu Port, Da Nang city.

The competition distance includes the 05 km event for women (2 laps) and the 10 km event for men (4 laps).

The race has the participation of about 300 people, who are union members, workers, civil servants, laborers, trade union officials, and leaders of units and businesses in 3 wards.

Solidarity and coordination between 3 ward-level Trade Union organizations

Mr. Le Trong Nguyen - Member of the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Lien Chieu Ward Trade Union, Head of the Organizing Committee of the race said: The "Workers' Month - Solidarity Running 2026" running race has the companionship of athlete Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuc attending the launching ceremony as an inspiring character, interacting with union members and workers.

To ensure fairness and targeting internal workers, the organizing committee applies a strict 3-step registration process.

Accordingly, the entire list of athletes registered online will be transferred to the Chairmen of grassroots Trade Unions to directly review, censor and collect centralized fees before the Organizing Committee issues the registration number (BIB) for competition.

The total value of the set of practical items equipped for each Athlete is up to 200,000 VND (including t-shirts, BIB, certificates and commemorative medals). However, promoting the role of caring for the spiritual life of workers, the Trade Union organization and sponsors have compensated 50% of the costs.

Accordingly, participating athletes only need to pay a symbolic fee of 100,000 VND/athlete. The organization, gifts and prizes are from the trade union budget and socialized sources.

This year's running race is not just a physical race, but a clear proof of the solidarity and smooth coordination between 3 ward-level Trade Union organizations.

We aim to create an absolutely safe, professional, and joyful playground for the labor force and strive to build this event into an annual traditional sports tournament of the Trade Union of 3 wards" - Mr. Le Trong Nguyen said.

Immediately after the signing ceremony, the organizing committee assigned specific tasks to each member, officially opened an internal registration portal and actively worked with brands and major partners to bring the best experiences to athletes.
