More motivation thanks to the attention and care of businesses

Iko Thompson Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Japan - Hai Phong Industrial Park) has more than 70% female employees. Not only fully implementing legal regulations, the enterprise also issued many separate policies that are beneficial to female workers.

Company's Trade Union President Nguyen Thi Quynh Anh said that female employees who are pregnant from the 5th month are given light work, and do not have to work overtime until the 7th month. Every month, women with poor health can take a 2-hour break and still receive their full salary. In particular, female students are given double the number of men. These policies help women feel secure in their work, giving them more motivation to contribute. In 2024, female workers accounted for about 30% of the total number of employees at the company, achieving the title of "good worker, creative worker".

Recently, the Trade Union of Horn Vietnam Co., Ltd. discussed and negotiated 4 proposals that are more beneficial to female workers. In particular, the company will continue to sign labor contracts with female pregnant workers, on maternity leave to raise children under 12 months old whose labor contracts have expired; female workers are allowed to take a leave during their menstrual period according to regulations. If they do not take a leave, employees will be supported with 55,000 VND/person/month (an increase of 17,200 VND compared to before). The company also agreed with the proposal that during the maternity leave, female workers are entitled to the full allowance for diligence (760,000 VND/person/month). Female workers with young children under 12 months old are given 70 minutes off during their working time to rest and collect milk (an increase of 10 minutes compared to before), and are still paid according to the labor contract.

Mr. Yu Peng Hui - Deputy General Director of Horn Company Limited - said that the company maintains an annual dialogue to resolve the opinions and recommendations of union members and employees. Thanks to that, employees feel secure in working, sticking with the enterprise, there are employees who have accompanied the company for 8 years, contributing significantly to the development of the enterprise.

With more than 2/3 of its workforce being female, Maple Company Limited applies many specific policies for women. The Women's Union coordinated with the company's Trade Union to encourage leaders to reduce working hours but still pay full salaries and allowances to pregnant and child-rearing workers. The company's trade union actively coordinated to organize more than 100 training sessions and 10 major propaganda sessions to help female workers equip themselves with knowledge and self-defense skills. Many cultural and artistic activities such as the Miss Maple contest, "Maple Smile", "Du bo dai Viet Nam" are organized, creating a healthy playground, encouraging the spirit of women, spreading the movement "Good at public work, good at housework".

Creative female workers, mastering technology

The emulation movement "Good at public affairs, good at housework" not only encourages female workers to complete their professional tasks well but also arouses creativity. In 2024, Hai Phong City will have 79 individuals receive the Creative Labor Certificate from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, of which female workers account for 27%. Dozens of women have received certificates of merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the City People's Committee and the Hai Phong City Labor Federation for their initiatives and creativity in work.

A typical example is Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet, an employee of the Production Engineering Department of Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Japan - Hai Phong Industrial Park) with the initiative "Increasing efficiency and reducing pipe cutting errors on JC4385 machines at CT block" which profited 1.9 billion VND. This is also the 4th time Ms. Tuyet has received this noble award. Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, Director, Head of the Adhesive workshop Trade Union, Son Thuy Production and Trading Joint Stock Company (Hong Bang District) contributed to the initiative to produce reflective raincoats, meeting the safety needs of outdoor workers, bringing a profit of 85 million VND/year...

Mr. Do Van Sanh, Deputy Head of the Trade Union Work Committee of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation, said that in the period of 2020-2025, more than 80% of female cadres and employees of Hai Phong City will achieve the title of "Good at public work, good at housework".

The results show that the movement "Good at public affairs, good at housework" is a fulcrum for female workers to promote their abilities and roles. In the coming time, the City Labor Federation will continue to innovate the content and methods of operation; link the movement with caring for the lives and protecting the legitimate rights of female workers. Along with that, focus on fostering skills, building an equal, safe and friendly working environment for female workers, creating a foundation for the movement to become increasingly in-depth, practical and effective.
