CAND Trade Union spreads patriotic emulation movement

Lieutenant Colonel Cong Thanh Thao - Head of the People's Public Security Trade Union (CAND) said that, closely following the orientation of the Central Public Security Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor... The CAND Trade Union has proactively innovated the content and methods of organizing patriotic emulation movements in a practical and effective manner, focusing on the grassroots, closely linked to the political tasks of the CAND force and caring for the lives of union members and workers.

In the period of 2020-2025, emulation movements are organized synchronously by the People's Public Security Trade Union, with focus and key points; emulation criteria are concretized, results are Qualized, ensuring the right people, the right work, and the right achievements. The organization of emulation clusters and blocks has created an environment for comparison, learning, and spreading good models and effective methods among units.

In particular, the typical and outstanding is the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2020-2025 which was implemented in unison with the theme "CAND Trade Union proactive, creative, responsible, comprehensive innovation, for the security of the Fatherland, for the benefit of union members".

Over 5 years of implementation, over 80% of trade unions at all levels have completed their tasks well or better; over 70% of union members have achieved the title of advanced worker; over 16% have achieved the title of grassroots emulation fighter, affirming that emulation has truly become a driving force to promote the completion of the political tasks of the Industry.

The emulation movement "Good workers, creative workers" is identified as a core, consistent movement, associated with the movement "For National Security", "CAND studies and implements 6 things Uncle Ho teaches". The content and methods of organizing the movement have been strongly innovated in the direction of encouraging initiatives, improving techniques, digital transformation, and administrative reform.

In 5 years, trade unions at all levels have maintained more than 200 and built 207 new trade union projects; many initiatives with high practical value have been recognized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Ministry of Public Security, awarded major and important awards, directly contributing to the process of modernizing the People's Public Security force.

In particular, the movement "Joining hands for the poor - leaving no one behind", the movement "All people protect national security", "Skilled mass mobilization", "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" have clearly demonstrated the social responsibility and spirit of serving the people of the People's Public Security Trade Union.

Through the programs "Tet Sum Vay", "Worker's Month", "Spring Warm Border Guard, Tet of Union Love", trade unions at all levels have mobilized tens of billions of VND to care for tens of thousands of union members, workers and people in difficult circumstances; built and repaired more than 200 "Union Shelters"; more than 100 Union Shelters/eliminated temporary and dilapidated houses; timely support in preventing and fighting the COVID-19 epidemic and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, thereby contributing to maintaining security and order from the grassroots, strengthening trust and spreading the beautiful image of the People's Public Security force in the hearts of the people.

Lieutenant Colonel Cong Thanh Thao shared: During the process of directing and organizing emulation movements of the People's Public Security Trade Union, I personally always clearly identify the responsibility of the leader as daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility, speaking along with doing; considering innovation as a regular requirement, not a slogan. From that practice, I have directly advised and directed the implementation of many new programs and models to link trade union activities with the political tasks of the People's Public Security force, especially in administrative reform, digital transformation, improving the quality of union member care and the effectiveness of internal trade union governance.

The initial results achieved are not individual achievements, but the crystallization of collective intelligence, consensus, responsibility and persistent efforts of the team of union officials in the entire force. My personal achievement of being awarded the title of Emulation Fighter of the entire People's Public Security Force and the Nguyen Van Linh Award of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor is a great honor, and at the same time a profound reminder for me to continue to self-assess, self-educate, and do better in the role of leader, contributing to making the activities of the People's Public Security Trade Union increasingly in-depth, substantial and effective in the new situation".

As a delegate attending the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, Lieutenant Colonel Cong Thanh Thao deeply realized that today's honor is not the destination, but the starting point for higher responsibility. Responsibility to continue to maintain political courage, moral qualities, discipline, order, responsibility to turn the spirit of patriotic emulation into specific and effective actions in each working position; responsibility to spread the good values of the emulation movement to each cadre, union member and employee in the People's Public Security.

In the coming time, implementing the theme of the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress: "Emulation for innovation, creativity, accelerating breakthroughs to bring the country into an era of strong, civilized and prosperous development", the People's Public Security Trade Union launched a patriotic emulation movement for the period 2025 - 2030 with the theme "CAND Trade Union emulates: Innovation, Creativity - Discipline, Mid-city - Breakthrough, Development - For National Security, for Union Members" with the motto of action: " Saying less - doing more - do more - be effective".

In particular, responding to the effective implementation of the emulation movement "The Third: Most Disciplinary - Most Trung Thu - Most Near the People" associated with the emulation movement for National Security" launched by the Ministry of Public Security, considering this the standard of action of each union member and employee in performing their duties; at the same time, widely implementing the emulation movement "The Third Innovation: innovation in thinking - innovation of content - innovation of methods of operation" of the People's Public Security Trade Union in the period of 2025 - 2030.
